My fiance and I finally set a date and we are totally psyched! Thank you to everyone on this board - the info has been totally helpful in picking a place!
So does anyone have any experience making their own save the date cards? Any advice?

Re: Do It Yourself Save the Dates?
You can design something on the computer and then buy nice cardstock and matching envelopes!

Re: Do It Yourself Save the Dates?
I designed a layout using a e-pic, uploaded it to vistaprint.com and made S.T.D. postcards. It helped to save on the stamps and vistaprint runs deals all the time for 100 free postcards and that's about all I needed. My total STDs probably cost me less than $20 inc. stamps.
Pics are in my album

I did them completely from scratch.
Cardstock, ribbon, glue dots, Xyron machine from Michaels.
Made the magnets from the Xyron machine ( I got it as a gift but would recommend magnets from VistaPrint.com..VERY CHEAP!) I ended up using a completely different magnet but you get the picture.

Re: Do It Yourself Save the Dates?
ive designed a bunch of them...do you have any photoshop programs? i have a program that is great to use to designs cards or anything really. But you can use just about any type of program to do so. Just come up with a color scheme and design you want to go with, decide whether you want your pics on there and how many pics.
