I brought 'favors' up to my in laws to be and they weren't really aware of them. they pointed out that my Fh's brother didn't have wedding favors and no one really noticed.

My parents said the same thing....right now, I'm thinking I'm not doing favors. I could only afford cheap ones, and I don't want to give out something that looks cheap, so I'm leaning towards nothing at all. HTH

Re: Do most weddings have favors?
All of the wedding I have gone to have had favors. I will add that I don't use most of them. (I did use a measuring spoon set)
We are doing edible favors, so there will be bags on the front of the table with Thank you tags on them.

Re: Do most weddings have favors?
The past few were went to had favors. But we are either doing a donation to a few different charities, or cupcakes. I don't want to give something that no one will use or will eventually throw out.
ETA: At my shower I hope to give something useful out.

every wedding I have been to had favors. You don't have to go crazy and spend a lot of money but it's nice to give the guests something to take home. You can even do a donation as a favor if you don't want to buy actual favors.

In addition to my past post - I think we will do the donation as well. How does that work? == how do you let your guests know?

I have seen scrolls on the tables. I heard some charities will send you the notes you can put on the tables. To play it up a bit, say you're donating to the American Heart Association or Breast Cancer, you can get little ribbon pins to place on the tables.

Re: Do most weddings have favors?
I think so, but Fh doesn't want to do them
If we do, we will either do mini wine bottles just with ribbons in our colors on them (no personalized labels) or donations to the JDRF

Re: Do most weddings have favors?
i think a wedding favor is a sign of gratitude towards your guests for spending your special day with you, and for most likely giving a generous gift. even a donation is thoughtful, just so people know you appreciate them.

Re: Do most weddings have favors?
every wedding I've been at has had favors... what about a small candle of some sort, with a ribbon that has your names and date. should be cheap, and you can find cute ones. I feel like all the women will at least take them, and probably use them at some point

Re: Do most weddings have favors?
Most do though younger people seem to be into the favors and older seem to gravitate more toward donations. I don't think they're necessary, FH wants them. I told him he can pay for them

Re: Do most weddings have favors?
I have been going back and forth on what to do. I am thinking I am going to go with Crumbs bakery cupcakes. I am prob doing the middle sized cupcakes in all diff flavors and then getting the boxes and wrapping them in bows. Its still going to cost alot but I rather get something ppl will eat instead of throw away or in the back of a draw. I also don't want to do things like 932853765 other weddings do.
