I just got engaged this past weekend and we're now beginning our venue search. I'm from Long Island originally but I've been living in NYC for the past 7 years. I really love the city and I know that if money were no object, I would 100% want to get married here.
Of course, money is an object and therefore I've been directing my search toward Long Island venues. But before I cut out Manhattan completely, can someone please tell me whether it is possible to have a Saturday night wedding in Manhattan for around $200pp?? We're looking at some nice places on LI (The Carltun, Caryle on the Green, Glen Cove Mansion, etc) and while I suspect they're still far more reasonable than NYC venues, I wonder if there ARE places in NYC around this price level.
Thanks very much for your help! We're probably having about 175-200 people. Please no outer borough or raw space venue suggestions as we've decided such venues will be too difficult on us and our families in terms of planning.
Thanks!!

Yes ... plenty of them! But they are really expensive .. you could try renting out a loft too. You should check out nycweddings.com and see if the girls on those boards can you

nycityweddings.com is the same board, if you go to that link youll see its the same as this just different colors
to the OP: for summertime it will be hard since that is high season for weddings and most will charge alot. I know some ppl who got tribeca rooftop for about $175-180pp during off season, so if youre willing to change the month youre getting married it will be alot easier
try bridgewaters also, their prices werent too bad and amazing view

Try Tribeca Rooftop. I think it's about 175-215 pp. I've been to a wedding there. It's absolutely amazing...

Thanks so much for all the replies so far. Battery Gardens, Bridgewaters and Tribeca Rooftop were already on my radar so I'll give them a call and see what happens. As for time of year, I inserted summer just for the heck of it but I think that I would be willing to do off-season to get a better price at a better venue. Thanks, again!

I'm sure you can find something... like PP said, if you are flexible with time of year and day.
Have you thought about renting some loft space and brining in your own caterers and other vendors?
A friend of mine did this and it was very nice!

this is all you need
We almost had our wedding at the seamans church institute down by south street seaport. Amazing views of the brooklyn bridge and like $4250 for the space all year round, any day of the week. Only issue was the space only holds up to 80 people comfortably with a dance floor. and of course you need your own caterer. It really was beautiful though. Especially if you like boats.
