Do NOT microwave bowls that say not for use in the microwave

My son wanted some spaghetti, so I had it in the fridge (leftovers) in a hard plastic bowl. I decided even though it doesnt belong in the micro 30 seconds wouldnt hurt (He likes things lukewarm)

So anyway, he ate some of it and then decided to get up from the table. He was sitting with me on the couch for about 5 minutes when BAM!! The bowl (seemed like it exploded) make this loud noise and broke into pieces. Pieces went flying on the floor and table (with spaghetti everywhere etc) It shattered like glass dropped on a floor!

I thought they might melt if microwaved but I didnt know they exploded!! I feel so bad and lucky that my son wasnt anywhere near it!!

Dont ever test it. It was VERY stupid of me.

Oh my god, how scary! Thank goodness neither of you got cut!

yes, also don't boil water in the microwave as that has been known to super boil and explode as well....

wow, I didnt know that. A girl at work put a paper plate in the microwave and it went on fire! It has a little design on it that made it go up. You gotta be so careful!
