Wow I feel like the outcast here. I don't want the Macarena either, but think I want YMCA and Electric Slide, possibly the Chicken Dance. My family is kinda into those things. What are you takes on the Dollar Dance?

This is a copy of the note I included to my band:
'Please do NOT play any group dances: conga line, YMCA, electric slide, chicken dance, macarana, shout!, hokie pokie, etc! Also please do NOT play “I Will Survive”!!!!'
Isn't it funny how a majority of us do not want group dances, my mom said I was a party pooper. LOL!

Yes, no group dances songs and no Louis Armstrong 'What a Wonderful World' he was married once before and that was their wedding day song... guess what? Turns out that world was not so wonderful.
Oh and no 'Hey Ya'. I know it's popular but it drives me crazy... I'll go nuts.

No organized dances with any hand, arm, foot or head motions.
No conga lines
I have been told I am a party pooper too - but I think it is entirely possible to have a kick *** party with everyone dancing without having the same crappy overplayed songs...just good old rock and roll, motown, and 70's disco.

Here were my *instructions*
Play some 80’s freestyle stuff, and some New Wave Dance instead of techno or deep house
Please play light music during dinner, but not Jazz (ie. Elton John, Billy Joel, Beatles)
MUST NOTs: macarena Chicken Dance Sweet Caroline (which they played ) Electric Slide YMCA Hokey Pokey Conga Line We also told them no 'Paradise' or other Meatlof songs, no Mony Mony (any version) no 'Bride cuts the Cake'... there were more, I just can't think of them all right now.
No requests unless OKed with bride or groom only!!!

We did this & peopel danced all night....no one even realized that we did not have a chicken dance, etc until days later!

-Any group dances/songs: (ie: Electric Slide, Macarena, Conga Line, Cotton Eyed Joe, etc…) -Mambo #5 -Hot, Hot, Hot -Who Let the Dogs Out -Mony Mony -Hands Up -Last Dance - any remixes (ie: “Grease” remix, Swing music remix)…. -Any songs by the following: Celine Dion Shania Twain Ricky Martin Cher Meatloaf Britney
