So many brides wear their wedding ring and ering on the same finger. It doesnt seem like many brides are wearing one on earch hand these days. Until recently I though most women wore the wedding band on the left and ering on the right... maybe it just because thats how my mom wore hers so its what im used to seeing... i dont know.

I beg to differ. I actually will wear my ering on my right hand and my wedding band on my left.

It can go either way. I have a friend who wears the e-ring on her right hand, because it doesn't match her wedding band. I have matching rings so I'll wear them together, but it's whatever you prefer.

I've seen both. I'm going to get a smaller wedding ring so that my ering doesn't fall off.

I absolutely love my e-ring (he did a GREAT job) and I didn't want to take away from it by adding the band. So I'm wearing e-ring on right and wedding band on left.

That is what I am used to too.
I also thought that all women moved their maiden name to their middle name (because that is what every woman in my family has done) It was only recently that I learned many woman actually drop their maiden name all together. I was really suprised by that.
It's funny how limited our exposure and experience can be

You can wear it however you want. It seems to me that most people wear them together. I plan to wear them together... but you can do what you most want to do!

I had never heard about wearing your ering on your right hand. I had always thought you wore them together and that is what I am doing. Funny how everyone knows something different and we all learn something new everyday!!!!

Re: Do people just not do this anymore?
The traditional American way is to wear both on the left hand, with the wedding ring on the 'inside,' closer to your heart. I think many Europeans wear them on their right hand. I'm wearing them both on my left hand, wedding band on the inside.
However, during our Jewish wedding, my husband placed the ring on my right index finger. I guess that's how people used to wear it! I had it on there for a bit after we exchanged rings until the rabbi suggested we move the rings if we were going to. Which was good, as the band wouldn't go past my knuckle and I was afraid I'd drop it!
But--you can wear them any way you want. If your mom wore them on opposite hands, so can you. It has to do with your cultural background, and what's comfortable for you. A lot of brides don't like wearing so much 'ring' on one finger so they split them up. Whatever makes you happy! Or whatever makes you and your husband happy, but since he's not the one wearing it, I think your vote weights more.
