Do people really do this??

I definitely DO NOT want people throwing rice or birdseed at me (I was a BM last year and the birdseed was all suck in my hair and in my bra...when I got undressed at night there was birdseed all over). I am buying the bubbles for people to blow at us after the ceremony. Well, my mother and sister know I don't want anything thrown at me and they told me that people might bring their own. I said just tell everyone I don't want it and not to do it. Do people really bring their own rice to throw at you or are they making this up??

I think it's funny that they would even bother I have never heard of anyone bringing their own.

I thought it was crazy too. I thought they were teasing me, but they seem so serious about it. Could it be an Italian thing? We have a big Italian family. I'm so freaked out about this silly thing!!

hahaha i have never heard this or seen it and have been to lots of weddings. I wouldn't worry.

hmm i never heard of that and im from a bigi italian family, i wouldnt worry esp if u have the bubbles they will use that,

i've never heard of anyone bringing their own but I am glad you posted about teh birdseed getting stuck in your hair...i was thinking fo doing that but def not now....bubbles are a good idea, prob woudl look very cool in pics too...

I never heard of it either - however, also be careful with the bubbles - I had a silk dress on for FH's cousin's wedding, and the soap stained the dress right down the front when I got hit with a bubble.

Thats why Im doing ribbon wands instead of getting something thrown at me. They look just as pretty and dont require much effort from the guests.

I didn't like the idea of something thrown at us either. We opted for nada.

We didn't do bubbles or have anything thrown at us. And no one 'brought their own.'

I've heard of it done, but have never heard of people bringing their own w/ them.
