Do the MOB/MOG's dresses have to match the bridal party?

Just want to see what you guys are doing or have done. I didn't think they had to match... but at least have a color that was similar? Or maybe a neutral color? I have no idea.

I'm not sure how i feel about this dress my mom bought: it's royal blue. My MOH is wearing a wine dress. I think the blue will be a lot brighter then the bridesmaids gown we picked. She seems to like it, though.

On the other hand, maybe it doesn't matter since we're not having a huge party.. just a MOH and best man.

I've seen it both ways. I think it's fine if they dont match

i think it's fine if they dont match, just as long as they dont clash... my bridesmaids dresses are burgundy and my mom got a light purple dress... FH's mom still doesnt have a dress but she seems to like navy... so yea, i dont think it matters as long as they dont wear white lol

Actually I wouldn't match, otherwise wouldn't she look like she was in the bridal party?

My girls were in eggplant, mom wore navy and MIL wore a mint green. It all went together but didn't match.

It looks lighter here than it did in person

It's really up to you. We just tried to make sure that nothing clashed. My bms are in a royal blue/cobalt color and my mom is in navy blue and my fmil is in this watercolor color with greens and blues.
