Do these colors go???

Do these colors go???

The BP will be wearing an dress with an ivory top and a sky blue bottom. My mom is wearing a lilac colored gown, and my FMIL wants to wear the dress she wore to her other son's wedding which is turquoise.

I don't think that this will look good in pics? But does it really matter?? At first her daugher was in the BP, but now she isn't, so I don;t think there will be any pics with the BP and her, or will there be??

I don't want to amke a big deal out of nothing, but I want the pics to llok nice, since I am paying good money for them.

Honestly, I do not think that goes. Can you politely ask her to buy a new dress in your color scheme? If you have a decent relationship with her, I would.

We told her 9 months ago she needed to get a new dress, and she went to one store two weeks ago to look for a dress. My wedding is in less then 5 weeks. I am very upset about this, and FH will speak with her, but what if she can't find a dress!

Re: Do these colors go???

She can def find a new dress if she looks for one. There is always a dress out there, they just have to look. Hey, my FMIL wanted me to change my wedding colors because she looks better in violet. I mean come on. Sometimes I think they go bonkers. Personally, I would call her and have a heart to heart. If she knows that you are concerned(and is a rational human) she will go out and get a new dress. If she does not, then I would have to say just look past it and know that you at least tried. Good luck to you.

She knows that we want her to get a new dress, I mean please it is your son's wedding and you can't go buy a new dress. I even printed out some pics on David's website of dresses that she might like. Did she go to look at them nope!!!!!!!!!

I am just so sick of his family not giving two s hits about the wedding, or at least that is how it seems.

my mom actually found a dress in macy's or JcPenny's for $150 and it looked great.

shelzyp- i can completely relate to it seeming like fh's family doesn't care about the wedding. i vented about this a few days ago that fh's brother complained (and is still b-tching) about paying $60 for their ceremony attire (after i have paid for about $120 for the guys).

i hope that she can find a dress! i know how hard it must be for you that they seem some uncaring about all this.

Re: Do these colors go???

My BM dresses are platinum and his mom wants to wear burgandy and my mom likes this dress that is like a gold (gross!). I don't feel like I really have a say, but my FMIL did ask if I wanted her to wear blue and my mom pink for MOG/MOB. I told her no....I wouldnt worry about the pictures, but for g-d's sake, your FMIL should get a new dress!!!

If she loves the dress so much have her get it dyed..lol. Could she do that? I think Black would go better than turqouise. JMO.

Sorry you have to deal with this!

Re: Do these colors go???

I was very worried my FMIL would wear the same dress that she wore to FBIL's weding to my wedding...and it's white!!!! Luckily I told her 'no white' and she bought a dress which I've seen that should fit into my scheme (my girls are wearing light silver & her dress is sort of irrodecent, hard to describe but has taupe, greens in it). My mom is wearing black. I think it really doesn't matter on their colors in my opinion, but everyone is different. I think she should get a new dress though, and you may want to have your FH tell her so rather than you.

Re: Do these colors go???

I would think your FMIL would want a new dress for her other son's wedding. Most women want an excuse to buy a new dress. Perhaps your FH can mention to her that HE thinks she should have an new dress since the wedding is a special ocassion. Maybe something about does she want to have ALL thos wedding pictures with her in the same dress....unless it's a financial thing, I can't see why she wouldn't want something new.

Re: Do these colors go???

They have the money to get a new dress. It is just the idea of actually getting to the store, and putting some effort into finding a dress that she is opposed to. She says she doesn't like the way she looks in dresses becasue of her weight, which she is plus size but she doesn't look bad.

The other thing is if this is what she wanted to do, then she should ahve said that months ago, not acted like she wanted to get a new one, when she didn't. I am so fed up with c rap!!!

Also for other son's wedding, she wore the dyeable shoes, but never had them dyed!!!!!

So I will flip if she does that again too.

Re: Do these colors go???

Honestly I don't think it matters what color anybody is wearing. The pictures will just be colorful : ). I do not think the MOG or MOB need to be in the same color scheme as the bridal party or even with eachother. Let her wear what she wants and don't worry about it.

Are the mothers supposed to match the bridal party or just be in something that compliments? My girls are in Peri and my real mother wants blue....ACCCKKK!!

I think it should be something that complements.

Re: Do these colors go???

it doesn't go, but who cares. your parents will not really be in pics with the wedding party, will they? and I don't know if your parents and his parents will be in the same picture either. If they are, as long as they are not right next to each other it should be fine. The only thing that matters is that no one will clash with you, which is impossible!
