Here is my issue. I have fallen in love with a particular bridesmaid dress. Problem is that I have two BMs who are heavy. One will fit into this dress, but I'm not sure she will be totally comfortable in it. The other will not fit into the largest size. I found this 2nd dress in the same catalog, and I have been assured that the colors are a match. It comes in the right sizes for my 2 larger BMs, and it comes with a jacket which I think they would feel more comfortable in (covering their arms).
Would it be awful to have most of my BMsin the first dress and 2 in the other??

I think it would look great plus being a larger girl myself Im sure they would appreciate the thought you put into it. I have 2 bridesmaids in my wedding and there wearing tottally different dresses.

I think you should give all the BMs an option of the two. You want all the BM to look and feel good. But it might be too obvious if only the larger BMs are in a different dress. You just have to be comfortable with everyone not exactly uniform for the night and pictures. I have everyone in a different style, same color and material. I did different styles, becuase everyone has a different body type. So I am a fan of giving them an option.

the second dress is only available in plus sizes, so while I'd love to give all a choice I think that is impossible...

i like both of them.... and at first glance they really seemed like the same.... i would say for them to not wear the jacket part for the ceremony, then they will blend in with the rest of the bridal party, and for the reception could add on the jacket..
They go together nicely! You are so considerate to be thinking about how comfortable they will feel!

Both dresses are stunning. Ask the other 2 bridemaids what they would like to do. If they want to wear the same dress as the other girls - call the company- they might be able to do something. however, both dresses are very flattering.

I agree with everyone here when I say that you are being so considerate to find a dress for your plus sized BM's, but the jacket seems a little office like for a wedding. Can you find a wrap or shawl to go with it. From the point of view of some one who is plus sized, I would feel silly walking down the aisle in a jacket. JMO

These dresses are GORGEOUS, and they go together very well.
However, as one who has traveled the plus size, to not plus size roller coaster, I know that I would be MORTIFIED if myself and one other plus size girl were different/ singled out in different dresses because we were plus size and couldn't fit into the dress as the other 'non plus size girls'. It might make me even more uncomfortable than a dress that didn't fit me correctly.
I know how annoying it is to find a dress, I have BM's that are 5'9'' and BM's that are 5'2'', and I have BM's that are a size 8 and others that are a size 20, it's a pain in the neck, but in my opinion, and please don't take it personally I dont know if it is the best idea to have them in different dresses. If you're close enough to them (I don't know the relation), then I would talk to them, but things can get very very uncomfortable when talking about these things.
They however are both beautiful.

I too have that issue.. I have one BM that is quite large all around and what I did was do seperates. I chose a Velvet stretchy material top with a beatiful skirt (that I found in the larger size first) and then called the company to see if the skirts come in smaller sizes. I knew that her comfort level was most important! Being a size 16-18, I know how it feels to be put in clothing that doesn't fit right! Even the wedding I am soon in, the dress doesn't look that great, but it was the closest compromise would could have with the MOH! Good Luck!
Also, Maybe you could alternate the girls when walking down the aisle? That would help abit, or get a shawl!

Talk to the 2 you are considering putting in diff. dresses. Although the thought is nice they may not want to be consipicous. Be honest with them first and get their input, rather than spring it on them. Besides, maybe they can give you some pointers as to dresses that they would feel most comfy in.
I found that letting all 3 of my bms have some input into the dresses made for very happy bridesmaids!
