Do u tip for trials?

i did

makeup trial was $30 i gave $40

I would be doing my hair AND makeup trial together... so it's already a good chunk of $$..... so I don't know.. I read this on another board:

'As a makeup artist and hair stylist I've been doing weddings and photoshoots for a while. Some people tip and some people do. It is honestly all about your experience with the artist and whether you feel that they deserve to be tipped. Tipping shows your gratitude for their time and the service that they provided for you, but never ever feel compelled to tip if you feel that the service was not performed in a manner that satisfied your needs. '

i booked both my hair and makeup person on the spot and was extremely happy with both of them, which is why i tipped.

i mean, i guess if you're not happy with your trial, it's totally your call.

That's what I thought.. I just wanted to know if it was assumed... like other tips for the day of.
