Re: Do you...
i didnt have a photographer and im ok with that. I never thought 'D*MN i should've had one' still have alot of great pics, our dj even took alot of pics they have a photographer and we had a couple hundred pics from them. Plus MIL surprised us with a videographer so i guess thats why i dont mind that we didnt have a professional photographer, we have video of the night so we relive it that way

We didn't, and don't mind. I gave my digital camera to a friend and she was the best with photos! She took tons and tons. If you have someone you trust to get a good amount IMO that's good enough.

Re: Do you...
If you dont have anyone who would take pic/if the people who would take pics take really bad picks, would you hire one. I found a photographer who has worked with a group for years. She is going out on her own and needs to start a portfolio with her own copyright. She is willing to do it for free. It sounds like a good deal to me, but I know some people find photographers annoying.
But I'm going to tell her that I want maybe 10% of the shots posed and 90% candid/photojournalistic. I dont want her to annoy people, I just want her to capture moments as they occur.

I don't know if I emphasized enough that I had a friend taking photos with MY camera. I've found that relying on friends and family to send pics later doesn't always work out!!

We didn't have an e-party, but I am very glad that my brother (who is a photog) taking photos at our RD. They came out great and I'm so glad that we have shots from that intimate dinner with our families and BP.

Re: Do you...
It was an outdoor party, quite casual, but nope, I gave my sister as well as future SIL specific instructions to take as many pictures as possible that day.
I'm satisfied with how many we ended up with as well as the quality.
