i have often read that too many families have gotten rid of 'dinner time' and that is a major problem in many families since that is when so many things are often discussed. Scott and I eat dinner together at the table at least 5 nights per week, and that means no TV at that time either. I think it is really important to do so. Do you and your husband/family eat dinner together? Did that change when baby came?

Re: do you all have a dinner time?
We eat dinner together every night around 5:30/6:00PM. Most days, we eat breakfast and lunch together too.

Re: do you all have a dinner time?
We always eat together. I was brought up that way and DH wasn't, but he's learned to love this 'ritual'. Even if one of us is late, the other will usually wait so we can eat together.

Re: do you all have a dinner time?
We always eat dinner together. My DH does all the cooking so I would probably starve if we didn't! Oh, no TV either!

we eat dinner together every night except weds...when he goes out on patrol ( aux police)...he is the cook..so it works out!...but we do read/listen to the radio or tv while we eat...
Dont get to watch much TV that doesnt involve cartoons...or videos/music since J is around. only was able to watch '24' since we taped it and would have a marathon session when she fell asleep

Re: do you all have a dinner time?
We have dinner together about 95% of time. We both come from families where dinner together is the norm.

Patrick is usually working at dinner time. When he's home, it's extra special.

Re: do you all have a dinner time?
We eat together almost every night, and most of the time that is pretty late. I am at work until at least 7 on some nights, and a few nights my hubby works the late shift and doesn't get home until almost 10 p.m. I usually try and wait for him, but some nights I eat before he gets home. Eating late is a bad habit we have because of our work schedule.... I hope when we have kids that will change.

We eat together most every night ... but we tend to put the TV on. One day, I hope to have a dinner time with our children and eat together as a family. I had that growing up and it's a real bonding experience!

Re: do you all have a dinner time?
DH's he has a different schedule each week. Last night he was home, tonight & tomorrow night no, so it's always fluctuated. When he's home, we have been in a habit of not eating at the table. We've outgrown our apt so it tends to have stuff on it alot. However, I do know that Luke eats every night around 6:30 or 7:00pm and when we move in the house (hopefully in the next few weeks) I hope to have that be dinner time. TV is so tempting at that time though with Jeopardy on at 7:00pm. But I like the family dinner time idea especially so the baby can see structure and we can set an example for eating right. He's a good eater so far and I'd like to continue that and I know a structure helps.
