Re: Do you believe in
I think I believe more in lust at first sight. For me, true love has always taken time to develop and blossom (Are'nt I 'oh so romantic'? )

I didn't think I did, but I did know from the night I met FH that he was going to play a big part in my life. So I guess I do.

I used to say no but from the day I met FH I was in love...I just didn't start dating him for another 5 years after!

Re: Do you believe in
I have to say yes....but after 5 years, I realized this guy wasn't good for me (too clingy, and never let me do ANYTHING by myself) and when I met FH, I knew he was very special, but I 'guarded' my feelings until I got to know him better...

I agree with jenny and janatlantica. Lust, maybe, but not love...at least not for me.

yes I do. Maybe not love but you can have a instant chemistry (far beyond physical attraction).

I believe more in instant chemical attraction. I have discovered, however, quite painfully, that those men who set my soul (and other things) on fire were usually TERRIBLE for me! One turned out to be married, one cheated on his fiancee with me, and one just came along at the wrong time in my life. They may have given me butterflies, but they made my head hurt.
When I met FH, it was one of those instinctive things that I knew he would play a big role in my life in some way. And he has.

I agree with what thrilled said! THe ones that made my heart flutter instantaneously really were not the right one for me (oh the drama!).
With FH it was different. He was 'cute', and we had SO much fun! The physical attraction (lust) definitley exists, but it just wasn't instant!
I beleive that it CAN happen, but it doesn't have to happen that way....

It took a long time b/f I would say that I loved dh. I've been on that 'love at first sight' roller coaster & I wanted to know that this time it was for real & would last. He felt the same with him! I'm glad we waited ... it made it so much more meaningful for us!

I don't know about Love at first sight, but definately people can know instant 'connection'.
I brought my very obese dog, Oreo, to the vet. for a thyroid check up. I have been using this vet for about 4 years, but I always saw his brother (the hosptial is my FI and his brother).
From the moment my FI walked into the exam room, we were both captivated with each other. I know, it sounds so corny, but I am dead serious. It was much more than an attraction, I kept saying to myself, I have to get to know this guy! Later he told me that he thought to himself, 'I can't let this woman just walk out of my life'.
So, what was supposed to be a 5 minute blood draw on my dog, ended up being about a 60 min. exam!
