FH has corrected me several times when I say 'my wedding' and that it's 'our wedding', which I obviously know. But sometimes when people suggest things to me, I get aggrevated. Or when I think about someone trying to outshine me on that day, I instantly get pissed. I know it's all totally ridiculous, but does anyone else ever get a little Bridezilla-ish?
PS - It comes on really strong when I get PMS

Kind of! I don't say 'my wedding' but I do get upset when I'm not getting enough wedding attention! Lol! And when people suggest things that are stupid (to me) I'm usually thinking: 'you don't know what you're talking about) like I'm a wedding pals near extraordinaire! But booking with cheeky made me a little less bridezilla-ish!

I definitely have had some bridezilla moments because my sister thinks EVERYTHING is about her. We have gotten into major fights because she is on some serious power play. Luckily, we have worked it out but honestly, I prefer to do everything with my FH anyway. The LESS opinions the better!

OMG my MOTHER had to keep correcting me when I was saying 'my wedding'. Apparently she did that a lot when getting married to my stepdad and it upset him.. so she wanted me to correct it before FH got upset about it LOL
I definitely feel like a bridezilla with CERTAIN things. Like... the flowers. I don't really care about the flowers and we're only doing 'personal' flowers (BoKs, boutonnieres, corsages)... I'd rather just pay someone to take care of it rather than have to worry about arranging fake flowers (which NICE fakes can cost just as much as real ones) and honestly... I don't want to be bothered. My FMIL suggested that we get fakes and do an arrangement so we have them forever... but my BoK is going to be a brooch BoK and what are my bridesmaids REALLY gonna do with that? If I were doing floral centerpieces... I could sort of see her point... but no. I'm paying someone. My mom was also lecturing me about it when I was on my way to the florist just yesterday and I flat out told my mother 'Mom. This is MY wedding and MY money. If I want to pay some girl to do it... I'm going to. Don't tell me what to do with MY money and for MY wedding'.
What I've started doing with suggestions people make about what I 'should' have at my wedding or whatever... I just say 'Thats a great idea but it just doesn't fit my vision. Thanks though'

Pretty much everyone I know is just about wedding-ed out from me. LOL They pretty much change the subject whenever I start talking about my wedding. My bridesmaids think I'm insane because I keep changing my mind between what types of dresses, flowers, and shoes I want for them. And how much involvement I'd like them to have (between a lot and even more than a lot LOL)
FH always jokes that this IS my wedding, and he's just showing up better dressed than all the other guests. I appreciate that he lets me be who I am and as obsessive as I can get, he never tries to tell me I'm going a little crazy.
My mother, on the other hand, pretty much doesn't understand weddings today, thinks I'm spending way too much money, and I'm absolutely crazy for having a specific vision and not settling for less. She is passive agressive though, so as long as she stays that way, we're having fun planning. LOL
I think that these boards kind of help all of us from becoming those lunatics that are actually on the show and yell at people for no reason and abuse their FHs and bridesmaids and families. We all have good ideas, and even if one of you girls suggests something that doesn't fit my vision, I know you're suggesting it out of good intentions.

I can think of two moments where FH said I was Bridezilla-ish, but overall I've been pretty chill and I think I'm going to stay that way. I can't be bothered to stress over trivial things!

I have jokingly been referred to as the bridezilla a few times already. Usually, when I start getting a bit anxious because of all of our family members opinions, someone reminds me its my wedding and my day (oops, our wedding, damn it!) BUT when I remind MYSELF that it is my day and my wedding, I get called a bridezilla! I am just giving myself some perspective here!

I get this way too!
I've been engaged for over a year now, and I booked my RH, photographer, videographer and DJ all at least 6 months ago. I took a break from wedding planning for school, so I rarely talk about the wedding. When I do and people just go 'yeah' or 'ok we'll worry about that when the time comes' I get annoyed because it's like...what time are you waiting for to get excited?!
Other than that, I thought I would be a LOT more obsessive about this process. I went to my first florist appointment yesterday and when she asked me what I wanted I flat out told her I had no floral vision, that I thought most flowers were pretty, and to keep it within a certain budget The less details I'm worried about, the less that can go wrong on the big day!

I've only had one bridezilla moment and I laugh every time I think about it. It was the same day we went to look at flowers and realized we couldn't have the centerpieces we really wanted. I literally laid in our bed HYSTERICALLY crying saying 'My vision is ruined, I can't even have the flowers I want.' I couldn't even get through the whole sentence at once because I was crying so hard. This was definitely a PMS/Bridezilla moment. I totally die laughing now just thinking about it.

I think this is going to happen a lot since most of us are having an almost 2 year engagement. I know my one friend who got engaged Nov. 2011 and is getting married this october is sort of having an issue with it because she also has a bridal party that has almost no interest in everything.
Luckily for me my BP has asked me what I need them to do right now... and I pretty much flat out told them 'I really don't NEED you to actually do anything until January 2014... maybe a little bit earlier. All I need from you right now is to be my soundboard. Just let me talk'
So far... so good.
We'll see from here on out. I pretty much feel that once we hit the one year mark... people better get SUPER excited.

I said my wedding last night and Fh corrected me but I was talking about people on my part of the guest list which is the ony reason I said my. I am sure I have bridezilla moments coming because my mother is already making this about her and it's going to be a problem.

I like that people quoted my being upset about not getting enough wedding attention... But for me the reason why I say it is because for the longest time if I heard of ANYONE getting engaged I would be so excited and ask them a million questions like let me see the ring how did he do it do you have any plans and everything else I could ask.. And with me, everyone was like 'yay' and it was over. (I'm not sure if this is all in my head but this is really how it feels!) this is going to be the biggest time in our lives and I would love to 'milk it' for that reason (not by being a bridezilla but getting to feel important for a minute) and I feel alone in that hahaha. Anyone else feeling this way???

This. Exactly. Not with EVERYONE... but with certain people I didn't think it would happen with.
I saw my one friend finally in January about a month after FH and I got engaged... and SHE got engaged 2 weeks after me... and she did not congratulate FH or myself in person... she did not ask to see my ring. She did however SHOVE her hand in my face.
This is the girl who I thought would be in my wedding party until after she got engaged and said 'Well.. since you TOOK December... I'll be getting married at some point in October/November.'

I feel the same exact way as you ladies. It's not even like I'm trying to 'milk' it, but I do want people to be excited for me!! And my friends are almost completely over it. I'm the first of the girls to be getting married who isn't rushing through the planning process. AND I'm only the third girl in my group of friends to be getting married. They all keep saying how I am having a long engagement bc I love the wedding attention. The fact is, if I didn't have so much time, I'd lose my mind. I have terribly anxiety sometimes, and this would be something to put me over the edge.
I've also found that people who aren't happy with themselves have a really hard time being happy for me. I've even had several people I know casually basically fish for an invite to my engagement party and wedding.
I've basically stopped talking about the wedding with anyone besides FH, my parents, his parents, and my 3 closest friends who don't live in NY. And you girls Anyone else who asks, I kind of give them short answers and move on. I don't want to let anyone else ruin this experience for me!

I'm definitely starting to have some moments. I agree with the other girls that sometimes I feel like I'm getting enough wedding attention and that's really a frustrating. But mostly it's just that I'm the first of my friends to get engaged and I think some of my friends are getting jealous and also have no idea what being a bridesmaid entails. I was in my sisters wedding and played the part: smile, encourage, slide the credit card, etc. I don't feel like I'm asking for much here... I found the dresses for a really good price and I'm looking into reasonably priced hair and makeup people. My MOH said to me yesterday 'we'll I'm probably just going to have my moms lady do my hair since it'll be cheaper'. It's just so annoying, no one knows how much I'm doing behind the scenes all while working FT trying to find good deals and it's just getting shoved back in my face. She also said 'I would never spend money like this on a wedding'. Ummm excuse me, I have a really low budget and shouldn't you keep that to yourself? I don't want to hear that noise, I would never say that to a bride! Ugh end of rant lol.

First... your MOH could have said that nicer. When I was in my friends wedding there was NO WAY I could afford everything. I spent $400+ on her bachelorette party (mind you I wasn't even her MOH) almost a total of $500 on the dress (dress + alterations... RIDICULOUS) AND I had to buy a new car about 2 months before her wedding so I was broke. She also knew my financial standpoint so when she asked about hair and makeup I had said 'Honestly... I can't afford that right now so I'm gonna do my own makeup and go to my normal hair girl for the because I know her rates and I can afford that'
My FSIL has made comments about 'ALL' this money FH and I have to spend on the wedding... when thats not the case. We're having a TWO year long engagement for a REASON. If we had the money... we'd be married at some point this year. But thats not the case. I also have a LOW budget compared to MOST LI weddings.
I really just want to say 'Unless its YOUR money... kindly shut the eff up'
