do you ever feel wierd about 'you' on your wedding day?

I mean... everyone says 'You will be such a beautiful bride' and I worry I won't. Or I won't feel that way. Or Matt will be like 'Whats the big freaking deal, theres eleanor in a big poofy dress w/ a lot of make up' (wich I know he would never say to me, but he may think) or if he thinks 'uhm.. that all the hype? I thought she'd look better!' or people will say things about me as I walk up the aisle like 'she's wearing white? who's she kidding' or 'that dress makes her look heavy' or 'She doesn't look that great for a bride'

I guess I just feel I can't live up to the expectations.....

I know what you mean. But in reality, when you get to that day, and as you walk down the aisle, all that will matter is you are marrying the love of your life. And anyone who sits there and thinks such things on your wedding day really needs a life!!!

All I ever think about when I see a bride is how beautiful she looks and how incredibly happy I am for the couple, I'm sure your guests will feel the same!!

Oh god, you too?? I will be PMSing on my wedding day, and I never get through it without getting a huge pimple smack dead in the middle of my nose!!

Im almost certain Im going to have a break out, its just the way it works for me!! Whenever I have somewhere important to go, I always get a huge one!

That happened to my bm when she was married. she had a GREAT make up lady, you couldn't even see it!!

I know what you mean. I am a self consious person and I am stressing about how I will look on the day of as well. It is just fear that comes along with the event itself. I think that because we have time to think about these things, they will haunt us, but in reality, on that day, I bet it won't even be a thought in our minds!

I completely understand...I usually break out when I'm feeling stressed...

I can relate to the feeling of weirdness on my wedding day---everyone looking at me..I'd be thinking, I hope my hair looks ok, my makeup, so on.... then I start thinking I can't wait to party at the reception and the honeymoon...finally getting away to relax

yeah, I'm honestly uncomfortable being the center of attention so i've had my doubts along the way about decisions i've made, etc....I kind of wish I was having a really small wedding with only my closest friends and family, but FH's family is too big to do that

The truth of it is, is that you are going to be beautiful because you are going to be absolutely beaming and glowing. It is such a special day for you and your FH that you can't help have this happy glow about you that is absolutely beautiful.

I don't worry so much about not looking good, instead I worry about looking so different from everyday that no one will recognize me.

I mean, I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, I usually wear glasses, not contact lenses, and my hair is either rather ordinary or pulled back in a bun or ponytail. When I brought pictures of my sister's wedding to work, everyone was either asking where I was in the pictures, or saying 'OMG - is that you?????'.

AWWWWWW listen believe me I have NO SELF ESTEEM WHATSOEVER I mean I have -99999 on the scale of self esteem believe me its hard for me to go out in public some days, and if I do say so myself I looked beautiful on my wedding day!

yes, I have felt this way, too

2 things reassured me IMMENSELY:

1-My shower. I enjoyed myself so much and did not feel embarassed being the center of attention

2- My hair and make-up trial. Such a relief to have an idea of what I will look like, esp. with make-up on and my hair 'did' b/c I NEVER usually have either one. I felt very pretty and know I will look ok in pictures..I tend to look blah or weird in pictures so this was a biggie for me

It's moments like these (feelings of doubt) I refer back to FH's advice on everything, F 'EM! It's your wedding day and if anyone has the nerve to say negative things, they deserve a fate worse than death...say being the ugly jerks they are. lol. I worry about this stuff at times, too. Then I remember that really it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of me....as long as me and FH are happy and together.
