Do you get a bonus from your boss or just a gift?

Just curious. I get a bonus.

Do you also get your boss something ?

I get a gift. Last year I got a really tacky looking business card holder it was so thoughtless, and I don't even friggin' have business cards!

Last year we chipped in and got my boss concert tickets to her favorite group.

I work at a big corporation, so no holiday bonuses.

I can't remember what my then boss got me last year ... actually, he may have given me Disney dollars (which he def did as a wedding gift but I really don't remember last Xmas).

Clearly not getting anything this year ...

I get no bonus and we got cheesy potpourri from the 99 cents store last year from our boss! It was such a bad gift me and my co-workers were gonna regift it this year and give it back to my boss. We got her a $50 gift certificate to Macys last year!

Do we work for the same person?

Usually we get nothing. My boss is out of state. I just got a new boss so I have no idea if I am going to receive anything. I doubt it. My company is actually giving us a $100 bonus this christmas. Its funny that I am excited over $100, and we have the whole week after christmas and up until Jan 3rd off. The office is closed.

and we usually get a monetary bonus (last yr it was 1 weeks pay!) and they cater a big holiday lunch for us at the office.

ETA: last year we bought them, its a husband/wife duo, Omaha steaks... this year its a GC for Restaurante Joanina in Hunt. village and a GC for Cardinali's bakery, so they can enjoy dinner, then some nice cappucino/live entertainment at Cardinali's.

NADA!!!
No bonus, no gift. We're lucky we're getting Christmas eve off. This company sucks!

and their idea of a holiday party is a free slice of pizza at the home office (at Melville) then afterwards you have to go back to work (Valley stream for me). I never go.

We get a bonus from the company, usually with a card from the director. We don't get him a anything--but last year I made him shortbread.

My supervisor gets me a gift & I get her a gift & something for the assistant in our department ( there are just the 3 of us).
This year its a boy--I have NO idea what to get him--he just started in November.

ditto. i used to give cards out...but i've changed my tune.

My company doesnt give out bonuses but last year my boss gave me a sizable amount of money from his own bank account!! Last year I got him 2 winestoppers and some candy, this year more candy and a Zagats guide.

And he wonders why I dont want to switch departments!

haha its a small place, a physical therapy clinic - less than 15 employees. very homey. Its just part time, but I love my job.

we get one week's pay without taxes as our bonus...Plus we have a lunch catered in the day before we break for the holiday...

I always buy my boss something to do with golf..He is an avid golfer!

That's exactly how my old job was, an ophtalmologist office, we got bonus and a christmas party.
