Like, if you were buying tickets at the movie theater.......
I say ON line but Clay says IN line. He's from the south so we have debates like this all the time.

I think I say online - I think it is a LI thing because when I was at school upstate, we always had this debate - along with Pop vs. Soda

Re: Do you get IN line or ON line?
When I'm talking about joining the line, I say 'I'm going to get on line.' When talking about having been wating, I say 'I was waiting in line.' I used to talk about being on line, but then FH would be like, oh, on aol?

Re: Do you get IN line or ON line?
I'm in line, but most New Yorkers are ON line.
I never heard 'on line' before I moved here. Brits say they are in the 'queue' (Q).

Re: Do you get IN line or ON line?
I think it is a NY thing b/c I say 'on line' too, but in Maryland, they all say 'IN' line... the on-line wasn't so much of a debate until it became synonymous with the internet!! I have this debate with people all the time!!!

Re: Do you get IN line or ON line?
I say 'ON' line but I think it's a city/long island thing because I went to school upstate in the boonies and they said 'in' line and a whole bunch of different stuff-like 'pop', and kitty-corner instead of catty corner (like the postion of furniture), they also pronounced bagel like BAH-GIL-very drawn out. It was weird.
