do you h ave a theme???

I had mentioned in another posting my fiancé cousins is getting married in August. She has a total theme some kinda a flower, don’t recall the name she had them at her bridal shower on her invitations and im sure in her bouquet. I do not have a theme, the save the date cards I like have no connection to my invitations, I don’t have a flower yet, nothing--- I almost started crying at Michael’s craft store the other day. And my fiancé is like we are not having a Birthday party it’s a wedding….

I dont have a theme persay... but I am trying to have an antique look to my wedding. I dress and ring are very antique looking and we are doing pewter antique chairs for placecard holders . I am also using cream/gold colors and doing wine favors.

I think if you pick a color or a flower or something it is easier in a way because it narrows things down for you and it is easier to make decisions.

Aww, don't cry!!!!!!!!

We don't have a theme at all!!!! It's tough to keep to a theme, you certainly don't need one. Tho I think it's cool if you're really passionate about something and you want to.

Honestly, we're just keeping the wedding about us and making sure that our personalities and interests shine through in every aspect. Don't get pressured by what other people are doing, just be happy that you're marrying a wonderful man and the 2 of you will be together forever!!!!!

Oh, don't worry We totally don't have a theme, just a color scheme. If you and FH have a hobby or activity that you like to do together, you could use that as a theme. Or you could just make your details meaningful. Some people are doing donation favors for a cause that is important to them. Things like that let your personality show through even though its not a theme. I think that is just as nice.

Don't feel bad! I have changed from one color scheme and theme to another and then back again. I was gonna go with a blue theme but the flowers I want are pink - so that kind of ruined it (hehe). We'll see!

You still have SO much time to decide on your details! If I end up with a color scheme/theme, well that is great - but I don't think it will make or break my wedding

dont overwhelm yourself. Start with something small that you want to keep consistant. A purple bow for example... then you can look for insipiration. You dont HAVE to have a theme, but if yu would like to , like I said just start small and dont go overboard.

I lovveeee antique things, so My dress and my ring are very representative of my style.. otherwise, I dont think we would have a particular theme either

I may get reamed for this, but themes remind me of Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. I would sooner choose a 'style' or color scheme than a particular theme and even THAT is pushing it. Sorry, JMO.

Well I do think it can be overdone..like a friend who did cinderella EVERYTHING, but I dont think there is anything wrong with a few touches here and there for some consistancy.. I think its actually quite stylish if done right.

Thats exactly what I meant by style. But all too often a theme can border on the cheesy side. It just isn't my thing.

I saw a Minnie and Mickey carved out of a watermelon at a wedding and to me it looked very out of place at a formal function.

I'm sorry I think this is hysterical, only because it would be something I would NEVER do, I'm sort of the anti-bride who has turned into the bride.

I was originally going to just go with a red theme, but now I'm seeing every other bride pick red for dresses, etc. so now I'm confused. I have 10 months to go and I haven't picked a color, a bridesmaid dress, nothing. (Ok I have my catering hall and dress and tiara, but that's it)

So don't cry about not having a theme. You don't really need a theme unless there's something you're really into like dolphins, or the beach if that's where you met. I mean our first date we went to a mexican restaurant, does that mean we need a mexican theme? NO!
Can you imagine a bridal gown and a sombrero??
