Do you have a favorite lipstick?

Do you have a favorite lipstick?

I am looking for a new one. Everything I have is to pink. I think it makes me look too young. I have very fair skin & was think of a peachy beige, but they all look so colorless on me. I am going for a sophistiacted, but not over done look.

Any suggestions? Should I move away from CVS & towards Sephora or a department store?

My favorite lipstick is by Estee Lauder. It is called Pinkberry and it SMELLS pretty as well as looking creamy and pretty.

I'm going to look yours up on their site.

I don't think you have to necessarily move away from the drug store cosmetics...If you find something you like, then who cares where you bought it...

I love Almay...They have some excellent brownish tones...If you can get to a Rite Aid, buy your stuff there! You can return opened, used makeup!

what about some violet-based colors? like sheer lilacs? I'm very fair too (I prefer the term 'pasty'!) and I find violets are very flattering, especially with blue/green eyes.

My all time favorite is Benetint by Benefit. It lasts all day long and is a cheerful cherry red, not a scary vamp red. I've also just recently discovered Bobbi Brown's lipsticks, which are mostly neutral red-browns or pink-browns.

I frequent all 3, usually I get my lipsticks from Rite Aid, Cvs, Duane Reade, b/c change my mind a lot.
I never bring stuff back.

I just thought maybe seeing samples might help. I have an almay I like, I bought it for my wedding, but it is too pink for when I am wearing other makeup.

I am almost purchased that several times. I thought it was too red for me. I used a Lorac lip stain for a while that was a deep red, but I needed soem shien in my life. I have a Loarac lip polish in a great pinky beige, but it slides of so qickly.

Yes - I think department store lines have a larger variety of colors. My favorites are Clinique and MAC.

I don't have the time or $$ for department stores, so I usually buy my lipstick in CVS, and that way I cna try out new colors and I buy them when they're buy one get one free. My favorite lipsticks are Revlon Colorstay overtime lip color. if you apply it properly it really does stay on for 8 hours. i LOVE it, and it has a really nice glossy topcoat. they also have a sheer version that's really nice and light for everyday wear. The colors are great. I have fair skin so for daytime I wear endless spice, faithful fawn or bare maximum and for nighttime I wear endless spice , true chocolate, and I forget the other, redder one. Around the holidays they come out with lipsticks with sparkle topcoats. I love it

I love the Revlon Iced Mocha color (I am very fair too--it is a light pinkish-brown). There's an Estee Lauder one I also really like, but I can't remember the name. I stick to brownish/copper shades because I have reddish-brown hair...

YOU GOT PURPLE MONKEY LIPS!!!!!

I *USED* to have a favorite lipstick until Clinique stopped making it and I've been miserable ever since. ALL lipsticks have a yucky taste to me (the Clinique one didn't)

purple monkey lips!
I now you didn't mean clownish purple, but I had this big Barbie head with make up & I'd always use the purple lipstick- Like Harold and the Purple Crayon purple. . . Can't that image out of my mind.

Intesting ly though, I looked up Lorac Lip Polish in Tickle on Sephora's website & it is describe as a pink-plum.
So maybe a little purple is the way to go.
I think I tried Revlon color stay & didn't like it--I can't remeber though.

Today at lunch I bought Revlon Superlsuteorus lipgloss in Coffe Gleam & MIlaniSante Fe SUnset.
Both Darker than I was thinking, sort f Maub-ish, but I think I like them.

Melani s sa pretty cheesy brand I think, but it has dcent consitency, I wore their Rose Fetish for my wedding along with some other stuff over & under it.

ETA--I think I have dark lips for a pale girl. I think that is part of my problem.

Bonne Bell gloss - Cappuccino

Revlon - Coffee Bean

Clinique - Black Honey

Chanel Glossimer - Spark

MAC LipGlass - Chai and Spite

I think Black Honey and Spark are shades that work with every skin tone.
