I'm making my OUt of town baskets with inserts on things todo for the weekend. I want to suggest restaurants by there. I went to stony brook univ about 5 years ago and I'm sure things have changed. What are some good restaurants near by and what bars are around there now?
Is planet dublin and wallstreet still around? I hope I'm not dating myself.

I heard Sweetwater's is really good - it is on wheeler drive -very very close to the holiday inn

Near watermill: Intermezzo, Boulder Creek, John Harvards near Holiday Inn: Pomodorino's
Dublin Pub and Wall Steet are closed... Look at channel 12 news web site for things to do

PLanet Dublin?? What a blast from the past! That place has changed names and owners like a dozen times and is just an eye-sore on 347 now. There is a Starbucks next door now.
There's always the Stony Brook Village Center. Down there is The Country House, Three Village Inn, Pentimento's, Robinson's Tea Room, The Golde Pear and The Brook House. Not to mention all the shopping opportunities!! And it's pretty down there on the water.
On Rt. 347 in Stony Brook is a good Chinese buffet, Yin/Yang. And then there's Red Lobster also on 347 in the shopping center where the movie theatre is. Oh, and John Harvards on 347 behind the Smith Haven Mall, great Happy Hour location, nice, big bar and good restaurant.
I'm hungry.......

Dave and Buster's on 347 In the Islanda shopping center, and Okey Dokeys on 347 in Hauppague.

Sports Plus is by the Mall. Uno's pizza. Isn't there a steak place on 25 in Smithtown- Burke's and SOmething? There is a Red Lobster on 347 behind the mall. Try going to www.digitalcity.com

Like I said, I must be dating myself by mentioning planet dublin and wall street. LOL.
What about Park Bench? Is that still there? It used to be a college hangout behind stony brook univ.
*sigh* the good old college days. Seemed like just yesterday.

J. R's steak house is good, it is right next to where Dublin is, but they should call ahead for reservations!
They make AWESOME sweet potatos with cinamon butter........

Wallstreet is closed for renevations. I pass by it every day!

Park Bench closed, it's now some other bar, which looks DEAD everytime I pass it so I guess it won't be around much longer either!
