Just wondering if everyone does this... I mean other than choosing colors... I was trying to describe what I want to FH and he doesn't get it.
What is your theme? What elements are you including to incorporate your theme into your wedding?
Does your RH fit your theme?
TIA!

Re: do you have a 'theme'?
I love all of these themes!!!! I actually found a link on the NW board of themes, and there are great pics, I will bump thread... I just had to say I especially love damask! I think I want to incorporate that in as well!
we have a color scheme, we're incorporating pears into things, but not over doing it (more like one pear per CP and the flower girls will carry pears with their flowers) and we're going for a very regal look.

Definitely do the damask! It's so elegant and it's abundant! I've never realized, but damask is EVERYWHERE. You can find anything and everything in damask... including toilet paper! LOL!
we are using the colors of a peacock feather (but fh insists that it cannot be the theme) so it's just the colors. we're doing teal bm dresses with green and purple boks with peacock feathers in them and gold accents, and the cps will be white calla lilies and orchids with blue led lights in the vase so it makes the whole room blue, and there will be a peacock feather on top of the menus (which will be tucked into the napkins)

No theme as such, but since we love cruising and our RH looks like a cruise ship we are sort of using that as a central idea. So we'll have tables named after cruise ships or destinations reached by ships rather than by number. We're thinking boarding passes instead of traditional seating cards (although that's still up for some debate). Not sure exactly, but something along those lines.

I'm having a Paris-inspired theme because we got engaged in Paris, and are getting married at a French-inspired castle!

I actually went to a wedding last October at CLM. Not only was the food awesome, but the fall decorations really made it! It was beautiful, you're going to have an awesome wedding there.

Re: do you have a 'theme'?
I guess it would be spring and wine. I want to use the brighter spring colors (not pastels, some spring flowers are pretty bright so I never got the whole pastel thing) and have corks for escort cards, name the tables after wines, etc. To me it's more about tying in the place and time into all the little touches, rather than trying to imagine up a theme and stick to it.

Re: do you have a 'theme'?
I kind of have a theme of Pearls.
I am wearing ivory pearls with my ivory dress BM's are wearing white pearls. MOH are wearing pearl brooches on their dresses.
My flowers are white and ivory and I hope to incorporate pearls into my centerpieces.
I don't really know if that's considered a theme but it's my inspiration!

Re: do you have a 'theme'?
Im incorporating peacock feathers whereever I can. At first, I just wanted to use them bc I thought they're beautiful, but once I started google-ing ideas for inspiration, I learned that peacocks actually have a lot of beautiful symbolism to them, so I thought it was the perfect 'theme'
little blurb about the symbolism - The Peacock, a bird of protection and safe guarding, representing fidelity, good luck, harmony, and serenity. Since peacocks are pure at heart, loyal and faithful to their partners, they also symbolize eternal love. The male peacock goes to great lengths to attract his heart’s desire and it is said that a peacock dies of grief if it loses its loved one.
I think it ties into our RH well bc we're using purple and gold as our colors to go along with the feather and the ballroom has goldish looking wallpaper. I feel the colors tie into the RH well.

Re: do you have a 'theme'?
We don't have a working theme yet, but I think we'll probably go with 'Modern Romance'. CP's are going to be mostly candles, my dress is probably going to be lace, and so are the BM dresses.
