We only have one TV in our house, since there is only two of us and we watch it curled up on the couch. I never felt the need to have one in our bedroom. I told my sister about it the other day and she couldn't believe it! Is it weird?

I don't. My parents were against it. They feel that a family learns to compromise and get along by watching TV together and deciding on who gets to watch what and when.
I had a TV in my dorm room and I brought home and put in my bedroom for a few summers, but eventually I put it in the basement and I play workout videos on it

Same here... we haven't hooked one up in the kitchen yet... still can't get used to not having one there!

We do, but I wish we didnt. I dont like the concept of a TV in the bedroom, and my parents never had one in theirs (and since they are married 33 years, I take the lead from them ) But DH likes to lay in bed and watch tv, so we have one. Damn marriage compromise

I agree that while growing up children need to be monitored and also learn compromise but as an adult, I know that I don't like Monster Garage and FH doesn't like Trading Spaces, so will we never watch either show? No, we compromised by having 2 TV's in an apartment. I don't think I'll put TV's in my childrens room when they are young. I never had one growing up either. We all shared. I had to watch Spiderman cartoons and my brother had to watch Rainbow Brite

OMG you just brought back memories of watching TV at my grandmother's house and whenever I didn't want to watch what she or my uncle were watching I'd get lectured about how when they were kids they only had one tv....blah blah blah
anywho, we only have 1 tv

My Parents have been happliy married for 28 years and the key to their success was a TV in each room, LOL!!!!!
J/k, they had one but made sure we had family time in the dining room. i don't think it takes away from anything. JMHO.

that's what I was thinking!
Okay so most people do have them in every room. Growing up we had 5-6 TVs in our house. Now we just have this HUGE one in the living room. I had an extra TV from my apartment but didn't even think about taking it with me when I moved into FH's house. We always end up agreeing on something to watch. He is not that big into sports, thank god! Ah, conpromise!
