Do you have to fast before taking the glucose test?

Or should you eat? I have to take the test next month.

I was not told to fast for the one hour. When I failed I had to fast for the 3 hr.

I didn't have to fast, just don't eat anything after you drink the juice. Bring a snack for after the test.

the drink was like flat ginger ale. it had some remnant of carbonation but barely nothing - and it's super sweet. and it's not that much you have to drink. and i was told not to have sugar that morning - so i had toast and decaf tea with no sugar.

it's not that bad. the boring part is waiting the hour till your blood is taken.

Thanks for the tips. I will try to stay away from any sugar that morning which means I will try to drink my tea without.

I wasn't aloud to eat or drink after. I had the orange one. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was only like 5 ounces I think. Put it in the fridge and drink it with ice.

Is this just a regular blood test after the drink?

Hmmm, I have mine right after X-mas! I was told to fast...but I am going to double check at my appt on Tuesday!

I think I fasted from midnight on. I was so relieved to drink the lime drink, it was refreshing!
