my wedding is wayy over budget i was wondering if i HAD to have one... can I just have a family dinner?
what is the point of a rehearsal dinner anyways?

if you're going to have one, you have it after the rehearsal at the church or reception hall so that your bridal party knows where to stand, what to do, etc.
If you're not having the rehearsal, then you don't need to have the rehearsal dinner in my opinion.
instead of a full blown dinner, you could go back to your place (or someone's place) and order some food and drinks and have a good time...doesn't HAVE to be fancy.

I'm not sure if they allow rehearsals...

I dont think a rehearsal dinner is a necessity at all, I might be having a family dinner myself..

asolutely 100% no--its not necessary. is it nice? sure....but not required.
if you are marrying at the hall--they will do a quick rehearsal with you on the big day.
don't feel bad about not having an RD -- IMHO they are not needed AT ALL (no flames to those who have it)--its nice -- but its just extra $ you have to spend!

nope! i never even HEARD of it till i came on this website lol
i am throwing some heroes and salad on my dining room table so people can come over after work....eat a little then go to the church lol thats my rehersal dinner!
seriously its really just another expense i dont need!
i am having a rehersal......but of they dont like heroes they dont have to eat! lol i told them all to eat before they come if they dont want heros!

We didn't do one. i didn't want to have to plan something else!
We got married at the RH too. Right before the wedding, out maitre'd told us the line up and had everyone run through the walk in part once....and that was it. it took all of 10 minutes.

You do NOT have to have one ! seriously not a necessity ! I am having a pre wedding dinner because I have my OOT family comming up , so i am combining my bridal party with OOT guests because i am not paying for it

if you do not necessarily have anything to rehearse, then no...and if you dont but just would like a dinner to celebrate the prewedding then why not....but def not an obligation

Im not having one either. After the rehearsal FMIL is cooking dinner and we are all eating at FH house
