Just thought of this... We are getting married at the reception hall (Watermill), and we're having Rev. Callahan perform our ceremony. Do we invite him to the rception as well? And how do we go about inviting him to the rehearsal? do we send him an invitation like the rest of our guests? Does he come to the dinner afterwards? I think he's a wonderful person and I would love to have him there - I am just not sure what the proper way to do this is!

I dont know if I would invited him to the RD but if you want him to come to the reception - send him an invitation! you might also want to ask him beforehand and see how he feels about it

so if we invite him to the ceremony rehearsal, would it be rude to not include him in the rehearsal dinner right afterwards? i guess the same goes for the wedding itself - the reception is immediately after the ceremony. i don't want to be rude by not inviting him, but i also don't want to make him uncomfortable if i'm not supposed to invite him....

You are supposed to. I'm not, cause I don't know him and I'm tight on space already, but tradition says you do, although most officiants turn you down.

My officiant made it clear that just in case we werent aware, tradition calls for us to invite them to the reception.

I thought so, but I wasn't sure.....just added him to the invita list.....better send that inviation out soon though.....hope he doesn't mind it coming a little late!
