Of course you don't HAVE to, but sure its nice. I'd thank whoever threw the shower for me, I'd thank the girls in my bp for their friendship & all their help & I'd thank everyone for coming together to share in my special day (& of course mom).

I didn't....You get all caught up in opening presents & what not...For me, I expressed my gratitute to everyone in their thank yous!!!

right at the beginning i stood up and thanked my mom and sister for making a beautiful shower - i may have said 2 sentences -
it was a nice thing to do and i think becuase i was so overwhelmed with emotion, the speech came naturally

You can just keep it nice and short and thank everyone for coming out. (especially the BP for all the time and effort they put into organizing your shower).

This is a good idea. I think I am going to try and make a mental not of this so that when mine rolls around I remember to do it!

I hate public speaking, so I don't plan on saying anything....but it might just 'come to me' in the emotion of the moment..
