Do you honestly feel like an adult?

I mention this because when I sit at my desk, I take off my shoes and sit 'indian style'. In fact, I sit like that everywhere.
I can't get over how much I feel like an overgrown kid. Who is legally able to drink.

eta - I posted about this in June. Obviously, I'm not over this...

I understand what you mean, though! I don't always do the most adult-like things, but that's what makes life fun, you know! It's good to be connected to your inner kid! It keep you alive, young and youthful!

PS - I would never fire anyone who sang my name to me.

I feel I alternate between the maturity level of a 10 year old and being an old fuddy duddy elderly person.

Adult = Calling you rDH 'slapjack', and 'muffin @ss'; and getting drunk at work; and turning down dinner with friends, just to lay around with your dog; and calling in to work sick- to go snowboarding.
Then, yes- I am the adultest.

Do adults laugh uncontrolably at farts, fart jokes and all fart related material?
Do Adults constantly try to give their DH the move I've coined as the 'Puerto Rican Poker' (it's when I walk behind him up the stairs and I poke his butt hole)?
Do Adults use hot pink pens with feathers at the end in Department Sales meetings?

If the answer to the above 3 questions is yes, then count me in !!!!!

Now that being married seems more 'real' I can say that I'm starting to feel like an adult. And since we've been house hunting and the idea of actually owning a home has been settling in, I def feel more like a grown-up!!

I think there's a definite correlation between debt owed and feeling like an adult!!

But at the same time I still love to be a kid. Heck, I dressed up for Halloween. I do every year bc it's fun and I like to play pretend that one day of the year. DH and I still watch cartoons and see kid's movies (we use his daughter as an excuse). I even still shop in the girl's section sometimes!!! And I love to put DH's sneakers on and walk around in them bc they're so big!!

Sometimes I'm afraid I may act too much like a kid, and that only scares me bc of the large age different btw DH and me; I don't want him to think I'm immature. But then DH will do/say somethiing that reminds me he's just a big kid too, so it's all good!!!

Well, with baby #2 on the way, we discussed this feeling just the other day. We definitely feel like we've officially reached 'adulthood.'

This did NOT surprise me.
I bet you look very natural writing with that.

I have 2 little kids, a full time job and a mortgage... and when I am doing my bills or getting thrown up on by a sick child... I DEFINITELY feel like an adult.

BUT when I am crawling around the backyard on my tummy with my 5 year old - hunting for bugs - OR when I am at the beach seeing if the water can 'catch me' every time a wave breaks with my 3 year old. Or when we are camping out in our backyard in a pup tent with a bag of marshmallows ... I do NOT feel like an adult AT ALL.

Sitting like that right now too. But I have to switch every once in a while because my feet fall asleep.

I definitely don't feel like an adult. And probably never will. And that's just the way I like it.
