Do you keep in contact with...

your videographer/photographer???

I booked my photographer about 1yr ago..and havent spoken to him since..its that normal?? Are we suppose to keep in contact??? I know hes suppose to contact me a few weeks before the wedding...but are we suppose to talk more than that?

I think I've heard that it's a good idea to call and just confirm things mid way between when you book and your wedding day. I'm sure it can't hurt.

i have an appointment with my videographer next friday. We are going to drop off pictures for our video montage and i plan on giving him a list of songs to play on our wedding video. I think its a good idea to call him up and just ask him if you need to come in to discuss some things.

Its funny that you ask this because my photographer is very in touch with us all the time, as recently as just yesterday. He has actually helped us plan our wedding. We booked our DJ, florist, chocolate fountain guy, and cake lady because of his suggestions. And he always sends us these random e-mails just to put a smile on our faces. Just yesterday we got an e-mail from him reminding us that our wedding is gonna be fantastic and we should appreciate each other and that planning a wedding together is one of the harder parts of a marriage because theres so many big decisions to make together and so much money being spent and yadda yadda yadda. Hes a really great guy and it really gives you the feeling that he loves his job, which will only lead to better pics.

I think in most cases though its fairly normal not to be in touch with your photographer/videographer until youre close to your wedding.

We haven't, until just recently when the 30 day mark hit, and a majority of the payment was due. Other than that no.

Yeah I haven't heard from them since we booked them about a year ago. The final payment is due 2 weeks before the wedding, so I'll be contacting them then.
