Do you know of any festivals going on?

If so can you list them here? Im trying to do something with my boys every weekend. I hate hearing of something fun AFTER the fact.

So if you know of anything fun in Oct - Dec please let me know. Thanks!

WOW! Tried to go to the Apple Festival! NO parking - what a nightmare.. way too many people. So we decided to go to a nursery on Montauk Highway? Right off of wading river road in center moriches. It was great for kids.

Also the Breast Cancer Walk is at Jones Beach tomorrow.

That's such a cute idea! I'd look in the Long Island section of the Sunday Newsday to find out any festivals or anything!

Harbes Family Farms in Mattituck (rigt next to Martha Clara) has stuff for kiddies (sand playground, horse - not pony - rides), and a mini wine tasting bar for adults. They also have a corn maze called Middle Earth corn maze that when you get to the end you have to slay a dragon, it's cute!!

Halloween Street Fair - Bethpage

The Bethpage chamber of Commerce Halloween Street Fair takes place on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 from 11-5pm. This Halloween event features a craft fair, parade and best costume judging for kids under 12. Bake-off, Jack o'Lantern decorating contest and plenty of activities for the kids and parents. Pre-holiday shopping. Free to attend. Call for more information.

Halloween Puppet Show - Saint James

The Maritime Museum in Sayville is having their annual boat burning on the 27th! My kids LOVE it. They usually have cocoa, cider, popcorn and candy apples... little displays for the kids.. and then at dusk they BURN A BOAT. It is interesting and we always have a really good time!

awesome thanks! I want to go to the boat burning but am having a huge party the next day. Maybe Ill see you there. I love the maritime museum. Ive never gone inside though We have a work party there every year outside.

There is a Pumpkin Festival at the Common Ground in Sayville on Saturday. From 1-4 you can drop off your Jack-O-Lantern. From 4-5 there is a parade from Prince of Peace Church to the Common Ground. Everyone wears their costumes and there are treats and prizes. At 5 there is a magic show at the Common Ground. FUN! :)

when is this? how far is Mattituck ?

Sorry it took so long to reply... I don't usually go on this board, it's about a 45 min ride from Babylon. Weekends stink b/c you have to go thru the Riverhead circle and it's bumper to bumper one-lane traffic. So it ends up being 1.5 hrs... Worth it IMO especially if you have kids!
