I know exactly what you mean...I let it go...but I lose respect for the person...and subsequently 'push' them away little by little

Luckily I don't see them often. I would just love to question them one time about their story and have them fumble all over their words & have them get caught up in their lie.

I USED to have a 'friend' that did that. Then I started calling her on it. She would say so and so said this and I would call the person in front of her or make her speak to them in front of me. It's usually over stupid $hit that's not even worth the lie.

It makes me want to say some ridiculous story to them so they know how it feels.
I know a couple who both lie and its amazing how they found each other.
Well, the conversation around that house must be interesting.

I have a friend who has a major problem with this. I don't think he even knows he's lying. He'll say things like, 'Yeah, I spent all last summer learning to drive racecars in upstate NY, don't you remember?' But in the meantime, he spent that ENTIRE summer with US. It's sad, because it all started when his dad died when we were about 15.

I know a few people who lie.
Some of them seem to do it to make themselves look better. I haven't figured out why the others do it.
