Do you know your bridal style?

I sure don't!
Should you know or try to figure it out before purchasing your dress?

I went total opposite of what I envisioned. I always said I couldn't picture myself in a pick up gown. and thats what I'm wearing LOL. Always dreamed of being an autum bride and now I'm a winter bride which I'm very excited for. and I always picutured my hair up and back, but now i'm wearing it half up....I'm all over the place hahahaha

Re: Do you know your bridal style?

I always thought that I would get married in the summer because that is typical wedding season, but I'm getting married in November. That changed things a bit and surprised me. However, I always knew that I would be a *princessy* bride. My dress completely fits that category. I have stayed true to form.

What types of dresses do you typically get drawn to??

The one thing I've learned from dress shopping is that I hate tiara's and love mantilla veils!!!
That's about it...again, no clue what kind of dress I am passionate about.

I think it could make it easier for you to shop if you have a vision beforehand... as long as you maintain somewhat of an openmind as well.

But some people may be the type that they don't know what they like til they see it, so just go shop! Try different things on and you'll start to see a common thread as you eliminate things and approve others.

I always always always wanted mermaid but went the complete opposite way. You have to try on different dresses, even those u don't want to cuz you'll never know what'll look good on u

don't go in expecting you will get one type of dress..beacause most likely wou will walk out getting something completely opposite..the only advise i can give you is..don't judge it on a hanger and try on all types...can't wait to hear what u wind up with??? i wanted a ballgown and winded up with a sexy trumpet/aline...

I thought I knew, and that went completely out the window when I actually tried dresses on.

Re: Do you know your bridal style?

i'm still trying to figure out my bridal style...
i've always always wanted a huge puffy ballgown, but recently have been loving the trumpet/mermaid gowns...tried both and liked both, so I'm confused! My advice would be to go, try things on, see what you like and try to sneak pix!!! I was able to sneak some pix at some of the stores and I've been analyzing them to help me see what really looks good in pix and what doesn't....if I didn't have those pix, I'd be pulling my hair out lol Its really hard to remember all the details about the dresses after shopping

I think that your overall wedding will also help determine the dress...like if you're having a beach wedding in summer, you may lean away from a very large heavy gown with cathedral train.

I tried on 2 dress that I loved, one was a beautiful cut with no embeliishments, but I felt like it was more of a daytime look or if i was having the reception outdoors or at a country club. I decided to go with a more 'blinged out' gown since it fit my mansion hollywood glamour theme best and when i was in it, i felt like the whole wedding came together.

HTH!
