Do you like staying in a hotel?

I know people who get really excited about it...but I never really think it's a big deal Unless it's a really nice hotel, I guess...

I don't really care about them either. I just like them because it's associated to 'vacation'.

Yup! I get so excited you'd think I've never left my home. I love every part of vacations.

Yea and someone makes your bed in the morning and turns it down at night.

I like to sleep somewher that isn't as cluttered as my own bedroom, but I do get a little grossed out which kinda ruins the fun a little for me.

It depends on the hotel.
Sometimes I get kind of skeeved - I must bring my own pillow and I won't walk around without flip flops on.

Not usually, but I stayed at the Loews hotel in south beach last month and it was amazing! One of my favorite hotels ever. When I came back from my work party, the bed was turned down with a little tin of candy on the pillow and a fresh flower. The alarm clock was turned to some mellow music and the lights were turned low, very romantic except that FH wasnt with me.
Also the pool was amazing, they had cushioned lounge chairs and put a fitted towel over the chair and then 2 regular towels. Its the little things that I love, also warm cookies and bottled water when you check in....

Re: Do you like staying in a hotel?

definately depends on the hotel and the city

I drove my car up from Texas to NY and lets just say some of the hotels were enough to make me sleep very lightly and get out fast. Others were just so plain ugly I couldnt wait to see my cramped NYC apt with no a/c

Still I also travel a lot and some hotels are to DIE for! So far my overall favorite is the Argonaut in San Francisco right off the pay with HUGE fluffy beds and everything Sony in the rooms. Oh my god I never wanted to leave and I only had one night there!

For my hubby he loves my traveling.

To me its a place to crash before getting up for another meeting/conference at some ridiculous hour in the morning.

For him (i take him with me) its a chance to put the do not distrub on the door and sleep as late as he wants without me waking him up (he can sleep into the afternoon - like 3 or so) He doesnt have to make the bed. Doesnt do dishes, doesnt have to feed the cats or give a shot to our diabetic cat, No calls to make, bills to pay, work to worry over. No neighbors to hear no loud cars with booming music. None of it. He just does as he pleases and visits some new town I've dragged him to.

PS: Next year my two major conferences are Mohegan Sun and Puerto Rico .... Lets just say Jim is willing to suffer a hotel stay for those trips!!!

depends on the hotel- but I normally only stay at nice one- I guess I am a bit of a snob

but I can't sleep if I feel like it is gross

Hotels are good because you don't have to do anything for yourself.

Also, because it's associated with getting away or vacation.

If I'm traveling for business it better be a good hotel because I'm not suffering for my job. At least for a vacation you are getting away for yourself.

I'm the snotty'ist of all. I LOVE hotels and it's probably because I'll only stay in nice ones. I'm such a travel B*tch!

I wont take non-stop flights, I bring my pillow everywhere, when I check into a hotel I have them bring me up feather pillows and tea bags. I don't understand why they have coffee in your room but not tea.

My DH gets so embarrassed I'm never like this, couldn't care less about where I sleep usually, I'm a tom boy, but something comes out of me when I go in Vaca.

OMG....I LOVE staying in a hotel! I get so excited, even if it's just going into Manhattan for a night or even out to a motel in Montauk! To me, vacation is my biggest pleasure in life...I love researching different hotels too (I spend a lot of time--at work shhh--on tripadvisor and fodors). Next week, my mom & I are doing a mini 2 nite 'getaway' to the Ritz Carlton Battery Park & I'm so looking forward to being pampered

Re: Do you like staying in a hotel?

I love hotels, but I hate motels ( the ones where the room doors are outside). Since at the hotels around here it doesn't matter how old you are as long as you have the money, Dh and I used to check into local hotels every few months when we were in high school.
