Do you mind people calling you by your real name and not your screen name?

Obviously this applies to LIW only, not while you're walking down the street

I just find it so strange once you know someone else's real name to continue calling them by their screen names.

Especially I honestly didn't realize until I had been posting for about a month that mine actually reads *u suk*

I think I just figured it out (oops - sorry) MRS London ... US UK!




And I think sometimes you have to continue using the sn because other people may have no idea who you are referring to.

I don't mind that they call me Maribelle. Some think it's my actual name. It's not, a friend of mine used to call me Maribella as a nickname and when I got my first email account I used it. When I came to LIW I couldn't think of anything else so I used that and the numbers...7 is my lucky number.

Either way, I don't mind

It took me off guard at first, but I got used to being called by my real name and screen name - they are not that far off anyway.

I don't mind. I don't expect people to remember. If I've met them in person, that's another story. I find it hard to remember everyone's real name, but little by little, I'm getting it. I still mostyl call people by their SN's though. It makes it easier for others to figure out who you're addressing. Sometimes I see psots that say 'that's right, christine...' and I have to go back and figure out who christine is.

Its funny when you go to a GTG and you introduce yourself by your name and the other person looks confused so you say your LIW name and then they are like 'oh hi!!!'

everyone calls me JAN now ... it's a pretty name

Yep, I think that's the main reason also , its less confusing. Tthough for people with unusual screennames with lots of numbers in them, I find myself calling them by their real names often..(aka WENDY .. I can never remember your screenname correctly.. )

Besides some people's screennames are just more fun & suit them better.. Like OctGroom, or DjPill.. who could imagine calling them by their real names ??

As for me, well I dumbed it down and made it easier for ME to remember my OWN name..
