have your bridesmaid dress colors picked before you can look into flowers/florist or do you just need to know your color scheme?

Re: Do you need to
I think as long as you know what color you want your BM in that's good enough.

Re: Do you need to
I am going to get my BM dresses first. My florist had also recommended doing it that way too. Hopefully will have this taken care of by July!

Re: Do you need to
Maybe, my friend told me when I go see the florist I need to tell her my color scheme. I guess if you have an idea of what you want you should tell them.

Re: Do you need to
I am waiting to go to the florist until I know what color my BM dresses will be. I have no idea what color I want them to be in yet. If I knew for sure though, I would start preparing other things such as the florist.

Re: Do you need to
Crashing this board because although i am getting married in 09-- i started my planning so late I am probably right there in terms of planning with the 10'ers.
As for florists/flowers though-- you really do not need to know what colors you want-- Baically when you go to the florist they just need to know how many CP's you need, boquets, etc and where you want low or high CP's. The type of flowers (at some locations not at others) will make a difference too-- but the color wont.
As someone else mentioned you have until like a month before the wedding to change your colors, flowers, etc. Even if you dont have an idea of style or color you can still get a good idea of price and quality of the florist and reserve your date.

Re: Do you need to
I didnt have a BM dress when I booked my florist...worst case scenario I can change the color of the flowers once i pick a bm color. I just told the florist a general idea of the color I wanted and he said no problem
My florist said its best to know the bridesmaid dress colors first. But you can change your flower color right up to the end so it's not big deal if you change yourmind...

You dont...but good to have a general idea....so you can discuss type and color of the flowers

Re: Do you need to
If you know what type of flowers you want, you can still book flowers because you can get an accurate price quote (Im not positive but I dont think the color of any flowers changes the price). With most florists, you dont have to speak about colors until later on anyway. It did help me though to know my bm dress colors just for my peace of mind when I picture the flowers next to everything
