do you order the favors after you get all the rsvps?

Im not sure b/c im inviting around 260 -
but i know a lot wont come (out of country, or other reasons but im just inviting as a courtesy)
so should i wait till i have the final count 3/15 or will that be too late?

What do you think?

I'm getting my favors from the shop i got my invites and decor from. She told me that she puts our favors on hold with the company with the most possible amount we'll need. Then, when we get our rsvp's in and have a better idea, she tells them to send out that many. I think she just needs 3 weeks but I guess it will vary depending on what we pick... Gosh, i really have no idea if that really helps...

i wound up with a few extra but i wanted to have them
i guess it depends on what you are getting and how long it takes to get them

We are doing the same thing...we already placed the order...I wouldn't wait that long..

I would order slightly less than you invited. (well couples). Its always better to have extra than not enough. I already bought mine and since Im getting married in November, I have certainly not got any RSVPs

we did one per couple and ordered early - i wouldnt wait for all the responses

i have some extra BUT i am giving those to people who didnt come but sent a gift!

we're doing 'per-person' - but this is a great question - i think it's a very smart idea to wait until you get all the rsvps! you don't want a lot of excess favors - never thought of that!

For my engagement party, i gave 1 favor per couple or family, and I ordered about 5 extra in case of last minute responses (which I'm glad I did because we had 2 familes rsvp at the last minute)...i'm now down to just 1 favor that i plan to keep.

I don't know about you, but even if someone doesn't come but sends a gift or $, it's customary to send them a favor. Keep that in mind if you do the same.

You dont necessarily have to wait for RSVPs especially if you see a favor you like and its on SALE, just get it.
I guess you just need to decide if you will give per person or per couple.

I already have my favors and I haven't even ORDERED invites! I have 96 - I am doing per couple - and I am inviting 150 or so, so this should work out fine.

We picked espresso cups for our wedding favor and we are giving one per couple/invitation.

you have to make a good faith guess at how many people will attend and buy now if you want favors. If you are doing candy it isn't an issue unless you are having it specifically made with something special.

Boxes, bags and stickers need to be ordered at least 6 weeks in advance to be sure there are no mix ups!

i am inviting 185 guests...i have no rsvps yet
i got 176 favors bc they were on closeout at the store i wanted them from. If we have extras oh well... they are cute, i'll give them to friends who weren't invited or something.
