I have GHI and at my first office visit they made me pay a copay for my sonogram in addition to my copay for office visit. They said the copay for the sonogram is because it is counted as a lab test. The next time I went back they didn't make me pay a copay for the sonogram...so I am convinced they are just dumb...now i get a call from the office saying that I still have a balance of $25 from my first visit. Now how could that be...I already paid $30 because of the two copays....Is the $25 the copay for using their paper robe?

Re: Do you pay a co-pay for your sonograms?
My first sonogram was at 6 weeksn and I did have a co=-pay, which was fora regular dr. visit. I think after that time, I never had another co-pay. Even at my 20 weeks sonogram i did not havea co-pay, but taht may just be my insurance.

Re: Do you pay a co-pay for your sonograms?
I have Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. I never had to pay for my MANY visits. I only had to pay for my visits to the Maternal-Fetal specialist but not for the ultrasound or sonogram (Pregnancy was high-risk due to my high BP and low weight growth of my baby).

Re: Do you pay a co-pay for your sonograms?
I have GHI and did not pay a co-pay for ANY sonos. Nor did I pay a co-pay for office visits after the first initial office visit. I think it that that first one is not considered part of the maternity care until its a confirmed pregnancy. I only had the one 18 week sono and then a few from 40 weeks on due to being overdue.
But even though I had GHI does not mean we have the same plan, many companies can have specially tailored plans for their employees.

Re: Do you pay a co-pay for your sonograms?
I had Oxford while pregnant. My first visit to confirm the pregnancy I had a $10 copay. I haven't paid a single dime since then. I had several sonos in the docs office, and my Level 2 at another place. He's now 4 months old
