Do you plan on staying in your co-op forever??

Do you plan on staying in your co-op forever??

or am i the only one?? we really can't afford a house and i want to stay home when i have a baby and this is the only way to do it. does anyone else plan on doing this?

I probably would have if I hadn't met my FH! I only have a one-bedroom co-op and it's already too small for us.

DH and I have lived in our co-op for about 2 1/2 years now and we have a little one on the way. I'm also staying home when I have the baby. The only way I would be able to stay home is if we lived in this co-op. A house would be too much for us to afford right now...(or ever) So we will gradually save and eventually get a house...whenever...

Dunno yet. My FW wants a house... but we are trying to see how we will work the money.

She wants to be closer to her family in Riverhead. I am trying to avoid an aggrevating commute to Manhattan everyday (I currently live in Queens).

We aren't planning on it. We gave ourselves a 5 year plan to get a house, but if it doesn't work out I am glad we have two bedrooms here!

the only way we can afford a house is if the both of us work. we don't have anyone to help us if we have a baby. i see so many of my friends having money problems with their houses and i really don't want that stress, that can ruin a marriage, like it did for my friend

I def dont want to live here forever but we have a pretty big 2 bedroom right now and the baby will have a really nice room We gave ourselves 3 years and if we cant get into a house by then we may relocate to Florida. Until then I wont have to work full time when the baby is born becuase we live here. the only thing that I wish that we had was a yard for my dog.

I am in a condo, and no I dont plan on staying forever. Although, it would be so easy to. Our place is great, and so easy to maintain. I think I might go into shock with all the work that a house entails. However, we want a house. We have a second bedroom here, it is very small. I think we could have a baby here, but DH says NO WAY! So, we will need to get a house. We dont not have enough saved up to even look at houses right now. I guess it will all work itself out one day. I would like to only spend another couple of years at our condo.
