Christmas day for me!! There's nothing like waking up in the morning and running to the tree to open gifts... And Christmas dinner is really special too!

Now that we won't be going to my FIL's anymore, I prefer Christmas Eve. We are going to swing by his brother's house to drop off his niece's birthday gift and then the rest of the evening is free.

We will go home and have a nice dinner (maybe fancy take out) and open our gifts and just enjoy the evening

OMG!!!! I was just thinking about this the other day and how even as a child I loved Christmas Eve more!!! When I was a kid it was so wonderful to wake up and see all my presents under the tree!!! But it always felt weird that it was over in 10 minutes!! I always loved the anticipation I felt on Christmas Eve and that feeling stayed with me into adulthood!!!!

Christmas eve....it's the day when DH's whole family (extended and all including my family) have a big party at DH Parent's house and we always have the best time!!!!

I love being around family on the holidays!

Christmas eve! It's always been the big holiday for us. We put up the tree, have dinner and open gifts.
I agree, by Christmas day, it feels like it's over.

Christmas Day is nice but I like the Eve better. It feels special because it's late at night and there is the whole expectation that Santa is coming, etc. - not to mention the HUGE amount and variety of fish that my extended Italian family cooks.

I grew up a Christmas Eve family. Day was nice & relaxing and smelled good cause my mom was cooking. BUt did all presents the night before and woke up to getting our stockings.

This was not a choice, but I actually like Thanksgiving over Christmas now.

Christmas has gotten so commercialized. People forget the true meaning and get consumed with spending lots of money on gifts. I like Thanksgiving bc of the strong sense of family and thankfulness for all the blessings.

Plus I think xmas losses it's fun when there are no little kids in the house. I loved christmas when I was little, when my brothers were young. Now my mother has to wake us up to come down to open presents, instead of breakfast we end up having lunch.
