I called my church 2 days ago about going to Pre Cana and they said they would send me something....so I open the schedule and it says $250
I didnt know you have to pay....Is it really required I don't really have $250 just sitting around here argh

Yeah...I think ours was $250, and if we'd had to do the Engaged Encounter (if the date we wanted was booked) it would have been more!

I think you have to pay $250 if you do the one that it is one weekend session. If it's about 4 sessions from the church, I think you only pay a fee for the refreshments and materials used at the couple's home where you go.

we did not have to pay for pre-cana- maybe it was included in the church fee/donation of $700!

I found it a bit ridiculous that not only are you forced to do it but have to pay as well!
Oh well, DH said it was good (which surprised me thought he'd hate it) but I was bored to tears.

Ours is $150 for the pre cana on top of our 'donation' to the church of $600 to get married there

Mine is free. It depends on your church. I'm actually not doing precanna in my church though, but my fh's church. He lives in nj and it is only one day there so it is easier for us. my priest doesn't mind if we do it some where else. You can always ask your priest if he minds if you do precanna at another church.

Ours is $50, but that is only for the 6 night version. We sit in homes of parish couples and they lead us.
We had the option of the diocesan one, a day long seminar, which was $250 or a weekend retreat which was more.
$50. Cheap and easy, that's us! Oh, no, wait... Don't tell the chruch I said that!

we are just about to start, but we already had the initial meeting with the deacon, and he didn't metion anything about a fee for it... hmmmmmm
