You do not have to but alot of people do depending on their relationship with the officiant. If you are comfortable or close with your officiant than you should.
We didnt, but we got married outside or our parish.

I just asked the officiant if she'd like to join us for the reception. We are getting married at the RH so she said she might grab a few bites at the CH and then bounce

I think its the polite thing to do...and as pp said, I'm sure they will only stay for CH. Nobody wants to sit through a wedding alone!!
Our officialt is a family friend, so he'll probably stay for the reception.

my aunt is marrying us so i'm sure she'll be sticking around...haha
but i think it depends on your relationship with the person and whether you want them to stay for the rest of the night !
