Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by wedding planning????
I have been feeling like this latley. Every weekend if full of wedding crap. I go to school Sat mornings and right after i am doing something wedding related. Then Sundays are all about wedding stuff. I mean I am still excited about getting married but damn I need a minute to myself. I work 40 + during the week and am taking classes sometimes until 10 at night. I amd 2 weeks overdue to get my nails done because I dont have time. They look horrible. My feet are looking like a horror story. I need a pedi in worse way.
I AM TIRED!!!!

yea.... i was never the girl who dreamt of a wedding (i'm completely ok with staying engaged forever, lol), but there's so much pressure to get this done that i feel like i'm driving myself nuts!
wedding magazines everywhere in the house, WE tv on ALL Sunday, since they are always showing wedding related shows.... LIW on the computer... i've turned into a mad woman!

I def feel overwhelmed.. My bridesmaids ask me everyday if I got my dress or when were going to look for dresses and what prgress I've made and Im just like EHHHHHHHH.... I need to take a break from it -its just alot... I just started getting back into everything this week,... I been discouraged also because I havent found a dress that I like either .NO ONEEE has a sample of The only dress that I loveeeee and once I finally do find a sample theres still a possibility that I might not like how it looks on me. so I just stopped dress shopping on a whole. I was telling FH last night I think Im just going to wear a white pants suit and he got annoyed lol .. Another thing thats been driving me crazy is invitationsss.. I cant believe how expensive they are Im willing to DIY but it doesnt seem to be all that much cheaper and I cant find the colors I want... Anyway I can go on and on.....

at least your BM's are asking you questions about your progress... i feel like my BM's aren't really paying me much attention... none of them are the 'excited about wedding preparations' type of gal and neither am i... so it's making this experience that much harder for me!

Yes, a little overwhelmed and excited my bridesmaids ask me all the time regarding dresses, progress and I feel like i'm being pressured into rushing out to look for certain things to keep them quiet I don't talk much about it right now with them because there isn't much to talk about and they feel like i'm hiding things or not including them in certain aspects of planning. It's alot of planning and sometimes you just want to take a break from all the wedding stuff so you can enjoy the time when you plan. I just want Fiance and myself to go at our own pace doesn't mean i'm ignoring or pushing myself away from any of the planning.

LOL i can imagine.. I really feel llike I have the best bridesmaids ever they are all over everything.. well thats whenI give them something to be all over . LOL Im soooooooo laid back and dont have a care in the world hahaha..... I cant believe i have less than a year and a half. But I have 7 girls and they are all great... Its funny were having this conversation because One of them just texted me and told me to give her the name of the designer and dress im looking for and she will call all over and find it for me today LOL while i sit here on LI weddings and chit chat and complain about being overwhelmed... ughhhhh I really need to get it together

if your feeling this overwhelmed, why not sit back and relax for a little bit? the wedding is not until next year, so you can afford to give yourself some time to do non wedding related things. or space them out so its not every single weekend.

I don't feel overwhelmed because I took about a month break before shopping for the next thing. We are ahead of schedule and I'd like to keep it that way. FH and I have alot of appointments during our free time over the next few weeks, so we will see if that changes. For now, we are good.

i only feel overwhelmed when i see people posting checks and i have none and i feel like i need to get my act together and book things. otherwise, i'm enjoying it quite a bit

I feel totally overwhelmed!! I feel like I'm so far behind everyone. And my mom is SO into this wedding and I am just so NOT right now. I told everyone I don't even want to talk about the wedding until we have a place, probably in May. It just seems like there is SO much to do in so little time and everyone has so much done already! Make sure you make some time for yourself though! Take a Sunday off and go get your mani/pedi...your sanity is more important than the wedding

I agree. You don't have to do things EVERY weekend with that much time..TRUST ME!!! I did things almost every weekend at first because our engagement is 8 months only, but now I don't even do things every weekend. You have time. If you're stressed, pace it out. You will get the vendors you want. Don't rush or feel the pressure.

I was stressed for a little while - trying to pick my reception hall and then second guessing it but I looked at the big picture and just was rethinking things for all the wrong reasons. I wanted windows in the reception room--lol and i have that in all the other rooms. Noone is going to be looking outside the room they are going to be too busy eating the fabulous Lombardis food and dancing!! Take a break from it - I try not to do wedding stuff every weekend bc then it gets to be to much and then doesn't make it fun. Granted I have a long time - which is the best thing I could have ever done but i took a step back and now im ready to go full speed ahead!!

I know EXACTLY how you feel!!! I work and go to school full time and whenever I'm not at either of those places I have some wedding thing planned. I swear I had a mini nervous breakdown on my way to work the other day!

At first I felt overwhelmed because I wasn't doing much of anything. So I started running around trying to do a hundred things which made me feel even more overwhelmed. So now I'm trying to find a happy medium. I booked the reception hall which is a plus and now I'm slowing looking for save the dates, invitations etc. My bridesmaids are awesome because they keep me on track but also don't pressure me to get things done. When u have over a year to plan a wedding, u shouldn't feel stressed. Try enjoying the whole proces. Get ur nails done, have lunch with ur girls and talk about stuff not related to the wedding! Good luck!

ME ME ME ... I feel overwhelmed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... actually more overwhelmed when i join this site... i agree with the post way above... when theres another 'Check post' from a bride.. im like ...ishhhh im behind again
the cost & planning the wedding in general is overwhelming but thank godness for the help of you ladies on winning the planner but even w/ that, like you said.. my hair and nails need some TLC right about now but our pmt is due in 2 1/2 wks .. FH and I are stressed out about other obligations, work, school, Haiti, weight loss, etc etc.. if its not one thing, its another..
im trying my best to take everyones advice and RELAX and enjoy planning but some days are more stressful than others...
We all are here for one another... thank goodness for that!!!

once you get all your major vendors booked, the rest can wait a while.
i've booked all the major vendors except for limos b/c I have to take a 3 month hiatus from May through August to take the Bar exam. i felt like once the end of August rolled around i'd only be 14 months out and might be closed out of my dates etc.
