No. They never want to go out! I've been inviting them out for 3 years, but they've turned into 'old farts'. They would rather stay home and watch tv.

We don't go out anymore, but it's not just because wer are engaged. We still get invited out, but we both have good careers, and we are trying to save money. We also are growing up, most of our friends are getting married, some already have children. I guess it's like growing out of Chuck E Cheese, we are moving up to bigger and better things.

Allure~did you decide on the hall yet?

Not like before, only once in a while. Who is planning weddings, who is pregnant, who had newborns...Funny how life changes

Re: DO YOU STILL

At this stage in my life, I was the last of my friends to get married. And now I am the only one with out children (most of them have 3 or more!!). It was hard to even get them interested in my wedding because they were all talking babies and potty training and schools, etc.

It is so hard to go out for a 'girls night out' but we do every few months. For me it's no problem, for them it's finding a sitter if hubby is not home. But we make it a priority and we have a blast. We've been friends since freshman year in HS so they are worth keeping!!

But I do agree, it's hard when your in one stage of life and they are in another. You just have to accept that and make time to get together.

I am also one of the last of my friends to get married. Some of them have children and none of them really go out much.We still have our friends over or go out to dinner as couples.
I'm really not into going out to any bars or anything. I can have a nice glass of wine at home with my hubby or with our friends.

Re: DO YOU STILL

I never do girls night.... It doesn't happen with my friends anymore. bar nights with my friends have given way to couples nights with dinner and a movie... Truth be told, sometimes I just enjoy doing something quiet with FH. I love it and feel sort of like I grew out of the scene.... Also all of my friends are engaged or are on the extreme verge of becoming engaged so our lives are otherwise pre-occupied.

I've turned into the old fart I think! It's too much stuff to do around the house now (and now that I found LIW, I never get anything done!)

Same thing here everyone has kids, so it's usually just going out to dinner together which is fine by me

Re: DO YOU STILL

I still go out with my friends if it is an affordable night.. But when they go away on there trips I can't go, like they are planning a trip to go to LA, AC, and skiing I can't go to those GOTTA SAVE $! So to make up for it I try to go out on all the girls nights

I have the same problem....some of them just don't understand that things change, and others keep wanting me to go out and meet guys with them.

Re: DO YOU STILL

We try to get together as much as we can. Most of my girlfriends are either married, engaged, or in a serious relationship, so it's usually a couple thing when we go out. I usually go to lunch or shopping with them during the day, at night we usually dedicate to our men! FH & I are homebodies, we don't really like to go out anyway.

Not really and ALL OF MY FRIENDS are single .

I'll go out for birthdays and stuff but that is pretty rare. It just takes SO MUCH effort

Re: DO YOU STILL

I never thought it would happen to me, but I have noticed that by 12a I am already starting to yawn when I go out! I used to be able to drink all night and have no hangover. Well, I went to a Superbowl party yesterday, did not even drink that much and was home by 11p- and I am STILL hungover. I think I am getting old Now, when my friends want to meet for dinner after work on a Wednesday, I am like, 'I dont know, its Wednesday, I have to go to work the next day...can we make it Friday?' They all call me the 'old married lady'. Gee, thanks-and these are my friends!

Re: DO YOU STILL

Yes, but it is different now. Most of my girlfriends in MD are people I went to law school with. We led a charmed existence in those days, because we could go out any night of the week and believe me, we took full advantage of that. But now that we can't skip or be late for what is waiting for us the following morning, week nights are almost totally out. And being so busy during the week means our weekend time has become more precious, so we aren't always looking to go out and party it up anymore.

But I still love to go out to dinner and meet my friends for lunch - without any men! Every once in a while when schedules permit I make plans spur of the moment with a girlfriend, call FH and tell him he is on his own for dinner! Lunch during the weekend is the norm. It just seems to work better that way.

I love Keith and I am content to spend most of my time with him, but I need girl time also. So I am still 'in the loop' with my girls, but we just don't spend out time doing the same things anymore. I couldn't survive without my girl time. It is very important to me.

Most of my girlfriends are single. It has gotten more awkward I don't know why?

Re: DO YOU STILL

No.

I do not seem to go out as much as I used to.

My girls are into the club/bart scene and I can do without that.
