I really wanted my boss to be a guest at my wedding, but our job is moving him to another state and he won't be able to make it. He told me he wish he could have made it, and even purchased me a gift off my registry....the thing is..is that I'm starting to hand out the invites. Do i still give him an invite although I know his last day is next Thursday and he won't be coming back?

For my eparty... I knew there were going to be people who were unable to make it, and I still sent them an invitation...

Yes - Protocol says you still send an invite - especially if you know he is sending you a gift.

I would still send them an invite. There have been weddings that I couldn't attend and even though the person knew that, I still received an invite.

Yes, send them an invitation regardless.

Yes, send them an invite. Even though he may not be able to make it he will probably be very happy that you still thought of him and wanted to let him know that he was someone you would have liked to be there to celebrate the day. I already know of a few people who can't make my wedding, but I am still sending them invites.

I would just for the gesture of it. If you think he will think it odd, you can always include a note about how you wish he could have come and will miss him.

I have family and friends in England and don't expect them to come, but I will invite them anyway because I am close to them and would if they were here.

I would still invite him.

I had a few people tell me before I handed out the invitations that they couldn't go but I still gave them one.

I think it's the polite thing to do.
