DO you think it is ok for my FH to wear a blueish vest instead of black or white?

He really wants to wear this bluish vest and then the groomsman will wear black vests. Everyone says it is not the appropriate way for a groom!
Please give your honest opinions!
Thanks

I think you need to be careful with this. The wrong color choice and his vest will look faded next to his GM. If he wants to be different try having the GM were a vest the color of your BM's dresses and have him were black or the color of your dress.

i think if you are both ok with it, then go for it
BUT i think it does make the tux look slightly less 'fancy' than a white or silver vest would.

I dunno. I think if that's what he wants, let him wear it. It's his wedding too.

No, it is not ok.
Colored vests are not appropriate for Black Tie. Not to mention, that the groom will look especially inappropriate if he is in a colored vest while his groomsmen are in black vests.
The groom and groomsmen should wear black, low-cut tuxedo vests like this:
If the groom really wants to look different, he can wear a white, pique vest, which is really meant for white tie dress, but can be used in black tie as well:
Also, make sure they are each wearing black, self-tie bowties, in a material that matches the lapel facings (satin or grosgrain).
Hope this helps!

are you having a black tie wedding btw?
also bowties aren't really in style as much as they used to be. Are they wearing bow ties?
