Do you think it will look bad if

Groom dances with his mom at wedding and I dont dance with dad, even though he will be at wedding?

I don't think it will look bad. At my cousin's wedding last April, he danced with his mom but his wife didn't dance with her father (who was also there). Do what you feel comfortable with.

I do think it will look bad...as if you dont have anything against the dances but you just dont want to honor your father. That is exactly why my DH didnt dance with his mother - because I didnt want to call attention to the fact I wasnt having a special dance with my dad.

But in the end - you should do what YOU are comfortable with.

It doesn't look bad- but your Dad should know in advance about this. You do not want to have a scene with your Dad that day.

Yes I think it will too. Like at my wedding we didn't do a toast to my parents or my fh parents b/c my mom was against anyone doing anythinig to her and my dad (they are divorced) so we didn't toast to his parents either b/c then it would look like we just did not want to honor my parents or something.

Thanks ladies, i just didnt want to take away from Fh. He only has his mom. I guess thats something we need to discuss.

Do whatever you are most comfortable with, but be prepared for people to talk. I know that if I saw only one parent dance at a wedding, I would be wondering why, unless there was an obvious reason for it. I agree though, that if you decide to do it, make sure all parties involved are prepared in advance.
