to ask my bms to hand out the favors. each bm would have to hand out to 3 tables, thats all. its cookbooks and i need one to go to every couple, i cant double them as seating cards obviously and i cant place them on the table from the beginning because i dont know how people are sitting?
so is that asking to much of them? i want them to enjoy the wedding but on the other hand, it will only take 5 minutes
the other option is to have the correct amount of books stacked on the table in the center with a little note card saying 1 per couple (thing is i dont know how to word this nicely so thats why i was thinking of the bms just giving them out. i think were having 15 tables so itd be 5 bms, 3 tables each
if you vote for stacking them with a note, do you have a cute way or just a nice way of saying this?

Re: do you think its overstepping
It wouldn't bother me if I was in a BP and someone asked me to do that. A lot of thought went into creating those favors, and you definitely want to make sure that everyone gets one (well, one per couple). The easiest way to ensure that is by having them distributed. As a BM, I'd understand that. But beware of the possibility of drunken BM's, LOL!
I'm not sure if a bridal attendant would be able to do this? Would that be overstepping?

Usually the reception hall will hand them out for you if you tell your bridal attendants or maitre'd in advance, they will get it done. I wouldn't stack them on the table or have the bms do it. Have your reception hall do it. You pay them enough.

I don't see why you can't place them at people's seats... I've been to weddings where the favors were 1 per couple and they were placed between the seats..
And I've been to others where they were placed ont he seating card table, but towards the end so people got them on the way out.

Re: do you think its overstepping
At my friend's wedding she had all the favors at a table at the end of the reception. When people went up to say goodbye she handed them the favors. That might work.

Re: do you think its overstepping
are you wrapping them? because they might be able to double as place cards..since each couple usually shares a place card too

Not overstepping per se, but I think it just might be easier to have them stacked in the table

Re: do you think its overstepping
umm to be honest i would be a lil annoyed to have to hand out your favors. i dont want to have to stop dancing or whatever im doing to hand them out and honestly..who's to say that everyone will be seated at that time for your bm's to even hand it per couple.
my hall's seating chart has a space where we write if its 1 per person or 1 per couple, also they noted it somewhere else too.
i would have the wait staff hand it out a dessert and people will be able to tell its not one per person

Re: do you think its overstepping
Our favors were one per couple and we just had the RH place the correct number on each table. We didn't put a note or anything. People figured it out.

Re: do you think its overstepping
ok, thanks everyone. you're right, i just realized that people may not necessarily be seated anyway so the bms still wouldnt know where couples were sitting and where 1 single person was. obviously i wouldnt want the bms to have to get up during dinner to do this or dessert.
ok, im going to stack them in the center of the table (well one side fo the cp), hopefully theyll figure it out and ill always ask the dj to make a quick announcement that please take 1 per couple so there will be enough for everyone, itll sound nicer coming from a person , then on a card.
thanks everyone.

Re: do you think its overstepping
I'm glad you asked this, because I've been trying to figure out how to give mine out too. Mine are one per couple and they're too big to put on the table. I'm thinking maybe I'll put them actually on the chairs, but on every other chair. Or in between every two chairs.

I dont think its bad to ask the bridesmaids to hand them out. HOWEVER< I think its easier to just stack them on the table. People should be able to figure out its one per couple.
