To look into a pro photog for an engagement party??? I had been thinking about it and have seen some promising ads on CraigsList for students who need to build up their photog portfolio - and it just got me thinking. (Cindy - I think you actually did this?!?!?)
ETA: Sorry, should have been more specific: we are having a pretty big gathering, but I don't want people to be like 'W.T.F. is going on??' b/c basically this thing has turned into a mini wedding.

Honestly yeah I think it is a little silly. I have heard of people getting engagement pictures taken why don't you do that instead. Just ask people to upload their pictures from your engagement party.

nooo i dont think its silly!!! I think its a great idea!!! I saw some ppl did that for their bridal shower too and that got me thinking.....if u can do it, go for it!!!

if you have the money go for it. I would rather not use what little money I have on that, id rather put it toward the wedding

I think it's ok if you're having a big party, like you said. Christina (depoc1011) had a photographer at her's, and the pictures looked great! I'm sure it will be awesome to look back at them since you won't be able to be paying attention to everything going on at your party at once!
