Do you think it's too soon to get hair/makeup trials?

I was thinking about going to get hair trials and makeup. Other brides told me that those vendors get booked up fast. Do you ladies think it's too soon?

I was thinking the same thing. Personally I think it is too soon, but then you hear these stories about how people are having trouble and things are booked up 2 years in advance....

I say if you want someone very popular, it's not.

I have called a few places and they were already being booked for 2006. I have my hair dresseer I am just in the market for a make up person.

I dont' think its too early to start the trials cuz what if you don't like the way the trial came out then you have time to find someone else. I say go for it.

I don't know...I booked a trial for make-up, my hair is going to be done by my normal hairdresser, so there's no problem there. I have left messages and emailed some vendors for make-up with my date and they haven't responded, and I think it's b/c my date is so far away, but you do hear these stories of people being completely booked years in advanced.

I guess it can't hurt to go sooner rather than later...

I'm going the same route with my hair dresser. Did you book or do a trial with her/him already? Should I make a phone call?

My hair dresser told me to wait till the begining of the year to do the trial. She has a make up artist that I can use I ahve to get in touch with her and schedule that trial cuz if I don't like her then I need to look for someone else

Yea I keep hearing to book your hair and makeup artist because they book up so soon. I have put a post on the vendor board and I received FM from them. I'm looking for them to come to my home and I think those vendors book up fast.

As soon as I got my date I called 2 make-up artists and put a hold on my date. I know they are very popular on theknot.com. I will probably have a trial with one of them when I do my engagement pics.

I have to tell you that I wasn't planning on doing it when I did - I did it 3 weeks ago - I wanted to use the same people that my friend did and they called me asking to do my trials now because they are booking up ...So I would do it

If you are planning to use the more popular vendors they do book of fast so It's really never too early to book.

Vendors do book quickly, and they can only do one wedding at a time. Also remember that you have time now. A few months before your wedding you will be super busy. I am doing mine in two weeks, just for peace of mind.

I was just thinking the same thing. I decided to start to make appointments with makeup vendors first. I will figure out the hair once the veil comes in.

No, it's never too early! I booked Oksana already, and I have an appt. with the Hair Genie next week. Some of the popular vendors book quickly -- trust me!

I think its too soon, and also I am trying to grow out my hair, so any trial I got now wouldn't be the same next year.

I already talked to my hair girl about it and she said come back next year, so that answered my question.

I will have atrial at the end of this month and if I like her, i will secure her for my date. Some vendors i called were already booked!

no i dont think it is to early at all. i started already. the first one i did the day of my engagement party, so if i liked it i could keep it on. which i did. better to start early then later. i have learned that if you wait to long you wont be able to book anyone. jmo
