Do you think that a bakery will charge extra for red velvet cake???
My bridesmaids dresses are red and I am using a lot of black magic roses so I thought it would be a really nice touch to bring the red into the wedding cake.

most likely they will I have been quoted 6.50 per slice for me x that by 180 people

Consider maybe doing a red trim or red sugar decorations on the cake. I think that red icing might look like blood. The flowers and the dresses are great but I am not sure that too much read would look appetizing when it comes to food. JMO!!!!
Anyway, your question was about price--I do believe it would be more but if you want it, maybe you will be surprised if you check on the price.

OMG! I was think of doing the same thing, I am doing a whole red theme. Let me know how the red velvet cake thing works for you!
